The TCO Bone Health Program was developed by our team of experts with the goal of proactively treating patients at risk for osteoporosis (or those who may already have it). The focus of the program will be on strengthening your bones and preventing future injuries, including fractures and falls. A broken bone can change your everyday quality of life, and also make it harder to return to your life before the break.

Emily Langan, APRN, NP-C
Adult-Gero Nurse Practitioner
Emily Langan has spent her nursing career working with the adult/geriatric population and has developed a passion in preventing health complications, allowing adults to maintain their quality of life as they age. She worked as an RN in the home health and outpatient orthopedic settings, and then went back to school to become an adult-gerontology nurse practitioner. In the Bone Health program, Emily will be working with patients to develop a personalized care plan focused on preventing fractures through strategies such as falls prevention and home safety, medication de-escalation, nutrition, supplements, and possible prescription medications. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, baking, and making memories with her husband and two children.
Darla Bissener, RN
TCO Bone Health Program Coordinator
Darla Bissener, RN, has always had a passion working with the elderly population. She has worked in many different healthcare environments with varying roles such as charge nurse, nurse manager, case manager, RN trauma coordinator, and now the TCO Bone Health program coordinator. As part of the program, Darla’s role is to support patients in their customized care plan that was established by Emily Langan, APRN, NP-C. This includes providing education, support and resources to patients and their families to optimize their bone health and prevent future falls and fractures. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the cabin to relax, swim or hike, and staying active by working out at the gym or boxing.
