Kari Cox, MPT, has 20 years of Physical Therapy experience. She first became interested in Physical Therapy (PT) while playing college tennis at Northwestern University in the 1990’s. She saw the benefit of PT in treating the injured college athlete, which allowed them to return to high level competition. She enjoys a variety of patients, from the young athlete all the way up to the geriatric patient who underwent a total joint replacement. Kari’s focus is not only on the painful joint, but rather to restore whole body functional movements so the patient can return to maximal function with less pain and a reduced risk for re-injury. She has experience in total joint replacements, ankle, knee, shoulder and hip injuries, sports rehabilitation, as well as back and neck pain. She holds the highest TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) medical certification (Level 3). This advanced education allows her to give special attention to rotational athletes, including the golfer, tennis, hockey, or softball player. She has a special interest in sports medicine to restore the athlete to a high level of competition. She utilizes manual skills as well as patient education to optimize outcomes. Kari finds joy in helping to improve her patients’ quality of life by reducing pain, restoring function, and creating a personal patient-physical therapist relationship. Kari lives in Edina with her husband and 3 girls. She and her husband love watching their girls develop in swimming, hockey, tennis, softball, and soccer. They also enjoy special family trips and new adventures!
