When it came time to choose a new doctor, it was an easy choice for me… As a high school coach, I saw the care that Dr. Holm and the team at TCO provides our athletes. Dr. Holm performed my knee replacements with great skill and care. I especially appreciated that when my unusual situation caused additional unforeseen complications, Dr. Holm wasn’t too proud to seek the collaboration of other members of the experienced TCO surgical team. Now I am again walking my dog daily and I even went hiking in the mountains on vacation… something I have not been well enough to do for many years.

I am a 52 year old male who is very active and also an ex-college wrestler. I put up with my hip pain for a few years just toughing it out and taking Advil. I exhausted every avenue to delay or rehab my hip. I had seen Dr. Holm for a shoulder injury years prior and was very impressed by his thoroughness and honesty. So when it was time to have the hip done, he was my first choice, both from prior experience as well as trusted referrals. Dr. Holm uses a robotic assist which helps place the new hip more accurately.

I had my total hip replacement (left hip) done at the MN Valley Surgery Center in Burnsville, MN. The staff was great and had me on my feet as soon as I was out of recovery. I had minimal discomfort and no issues with any of the incisions.

Mile stones:
Walking same day as surgery
Walking stairs first day after surgery
Walking with cane 4 days after surgery
No pain meds besides Advil 6 days post-surgery
Driving 8 days post-surgery (wife wouldn’t let me any earlier)
No assist walking 13 days post-surgery
Exercise recumbent bike 21 days post-surgery
Moderate cardio on exercise bike 30 days post-surgery
I did do my physical therapy as prescribed every day

The home care nurse who stops to check on you for the first three days did send me to the emergency room because she thought I looked pale and had a slight fever. She also notified Dr. Holm’s office. To my wife and I’s surprise, while sitting in the ER room, the curtain opens and Dr. Holm walks in to check on me. The small spike in fever was completely unrelated to the surgery. But how many doctors would drive to a different hospital to check on a patient? I will likely need the other hip replaced and I will definitely be going back to Dr. Holm.

Hello, TCO! I wanted to write in and share how thankful I am for Dr. Jason Holm and the fantastic work that he did to repair my badly broken leg/ankle. It’s been just about a year since my last/final surgery and 2½ years since my injury. I am thrilled, and oh so thankful to be back to my pre-injury life with no more pain! Only a few scars to remind me of my “little” riding accident when I broke my fib, tib and ankle into bits. Many of my family and friends will only share with me now that they never thought I would be 100% again but would likely be walking with a limp for the rest of my days. I’m so glad to have proved them wrong. One of my goals was to be able to get back to living the active outdoor life that I enjoyed before the injury, including hiking/backpacking in the mountains. This last October it happened! My husband and I took the Colorado backpacking trip that we were supposed to have done the fall after I broke my leg. The attached picture is of me at Snowmass Lake – 11,000 feet above sea level!  It was a very challenging 8½ mile trip each way, but absolutely no leg/ankle issues/pain or discomfort. This was the ultimate test of my healing and the great work of Dr. Holm. Thank you Dr. Holm and TCO for giving me my life back!

I’m a 52 year old woman who has spent my entire life working on my feet. Either as a restaurant server, to manager and most recently a freelance makeup artist. So it wasn’t surprising that I started having knee pain years ago. I tried the usual; massage, ice, heat, tons of Advil, glucosamine & chondroitin. Finally I knew it was time to have an orthopedic surgeon take a look at them. After having X-rays done, my worse fear came true. I was bone on bone in both knees. I had outlived my knees. I was very shook up. I decided to try cortisone shots and after the first time I felt like a new woman. I thought, “ok I can do this. Yes I have to have surgery, but I can put it off for awhile”, well the 3 months went by and my knees were feeling bad again so I went in for another cortisone shot. This time, nothing! It didn’t help at all. I met with Dr. Holm and confirmed I would need surgery. After speaking to him for a bit, I knew he was the doctor I wanted to do my surgery. I liked his upbeat attitude and his overall confidence. I cannot express my gratitude enough in Dr. Holm. After listening to a few well-meaning friends, I took my husband with me to see Dr. Holm again. I needed my husband to help me understand that all options were off the table, and that if I wanted the quality of life I had been missing I would have to do the bilateral knee replacement. Dr. Holm was very patient and kind to once again explain what the surgery would entail. So October 11, 2016 I was admitted to Fairview Ridges hospital for my surgery. I was a basket case. Every single person I came into contact with was exemplary! They alleviated all the stress and fear that I was feeling. The surgery went extremely well. Dr. Holm confirmed that my knees were a mess! So after 4 nights at Ridges (where my nurses and PT personnel were fantastic!)  I was sent home. I am so pleased to announce that I am recovering quickly. It’s been 24 days and I am walking without a walker. Going up and down stairs (slowly), but never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d be where I am right now. I cannot express my absolute gratitude to Dr. Jason Holm, his PA Jamie & care coordinator Kelly! They have been there for every question, concern that I have had. I highly recommend that anyone considering surgery that they choose Dr. Holm and his team! So thank you once again, Dr. Holm, Jamie, and Kelly! You truly are the best!

Dr. Holm performed surgery after I broke my wrist. The surgery was very successful, but more importantly, the care he provided post-surgery was outstanding. He helped me understand the healing process and explained the expectations for rehabilitation and getting back my range of motion. I had several questions, and he was always willing to provide detailed answers. The most important thing is he truly cares about his patients and is a very compassionate physician. I feel very fortunate to have found an excellent Orthopedic physician who provides exceptional patient care. Thank you, Dr. Holm! You made the experience of breaking my first bone a wonderful one. Also, your care team did an excellent job supporting me during my recovery. Please let them know their commitment to patient care is excellent and I truly appreciated their help.

My name is Constance and I am a very grateful patient of Twin Cities Orthopedics. On May 6, 2014 I had bilateral total knee replacement surgery performed by the brilliant and amazing Dr. Jason Holm. I only have my highest praises for the entire staff at Twin Cities Orthopedics who are extraordinary, phenomenal, outstanding and exceptional! My heart and spirit are overflowing with gratitude, thanksgiving, appreciation and joy for the care team I’ve been blessed with at TCO. It’s been my honor, privilege, and joy to have the gifted and kind Dr. Jason Holm as my surgeon, his assistant Bobbie, Care Coordinator Kelly Hurley, Physical Therapist Maggie Dewitz, the x-ray team, Laurie and Debbie at the front desk, Tia and others whose names I don’t know as my precious and incredible and the best of the best care team! I’m very grateful to each person that works at Twin Cities Orthopedics for their commitment, dedication, sacrifices, and price they paid to obtain their education, training, knowledge, skills and wisdom so that I as a patient have been able to benefit from all of their hard work. My life and health has been greatly improved. Each person has shown professionalism along with respect, graciousness, patience, kindness, understanding, encouragement, support, compassion, thoughtfulness, a genuine interest in my care and well-being, cheerfulness and best of all the loving smiles and hugs! Each person is vital to the care, healing and recovery for a patient. I have a new found appreciation for people in the medical profession. This was the first time I have never had major surgery and a hospital stay. It has been a humbling and emotional experience being vulnerable and dependent on others to help meet my most basic needs. I treasure, value, love and celebrate this precious group of people who are passionate and dedicated to serve and help others in such a profound way!
