During his fellowship, he has had the opportunity to work on the medical staff for the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, assisting with sideline and training room coverage. Dr. Flikkema has extensive training and experience treating all individuals who want to maximize their potential to be active, from elite athletes to those who want to simply maintain an active lifestyle.
His approach is based on a philosophy that each procedure is specific and customized to the individual needs of each patient. He focuses not only on the patient’s full recovery but the speed of that recovery to return to sport safely. He utilizes a team-based approach for his post-operative care. This approach optimizes the recovery process by coordinating care for his patients with the help and inclusion of their physical therapists, coaches, and athletic trainers.
