Thank you Dr. Arthur and Sarah for squeezing my 85 year old mother in for femur surgery at 5pm on Sunday of Labor Day Weekend 2023! You had a full roster that day, so I am so grateful that you were able to relieve her of terrible pain. The follow up X-ray in October could have been a nightmare, as my mother was rolled out of bed that morning at assisted living. She was very scared and in some pain from that fall. We worked together to ensure her comfort to and get her on the X-ray table successfully. I truly appreciate you both. Caregiving is a very difficult journey, so the support you both provided is absolutely a silver lining.

Dr. Arthur performed my knee replacement surgery on June 9, 2022. This past month, my wife and I went on a hiking trip to Sedona AZ. Six months to the day after my surgery, I spent three days hiking in the desert and mountains of Arizona. I just wanted to say thank you to the whole team there at TCO and the EXCEL program. Last year I would not have been able to take that trip.

I want to thank Dr. Arthur once again for wonderful care. He saw me in August for a torn meniscus and recommended rest, icing, and elevation before my “bucket list” trip to Egypt. His recommendations worked! My husband and I had a fabulous trip to Egypt and Petra, then went on to meet our daughter and her children in Dubai, staying at Atlantis. No exaggeration, I climbed thousands of steps in Egypt, Petra and at the Dubai water park with my granddaughters, and I had no pain. Thanks for keeping these “old” bones moving!

I arrived at Dr. Andrew Arthur’s TCO office in the Spring of 2019 to be seen for severe pain in my left knee and the inability to walk for more than 10 minutes. I was diagnosed with multiple stress fractures and badly damaged knee cartilage. I knew my sporting future did not look bright. Dr. Arthur recommended paste graft cartilage regeneration for my knee. He carefully explained why this was an ideal option and my best hope to get back to triathlon competition.  I knew I was in excellent hands and agreed to follow his lead. Dr. Arthur reported that the procedure went better than we expected. The next step in the process included dedicating myself to physical therapy.

I closely followed every recommendation I was given for recovery and rehabilitation. Dr. Arthur and his team were profoundly helpful and supportive throughout my recovery, with consistent contact and multiple office checkups.  Two years post-surgery, I am pain free and racing again.  I recently finished Ironman Wisconsin, placing 6th out of 199 in my age group and 103rd out of 1,746 overall.  Considering what my life was like before surgery and physical therapy, this is truly miraculous. Thank you for helping make my dream come true, Dr. Arthur and Twin Cities Orthopedics!

I have seen Dr. Andrew Arthur twice for my injuries. He explained my injuries and what I can do to help heal them. I was given a wrist brace after my first injury for more protection. With my second injury, I cracked my clavicle by missing a step and falling backwards on the stairs. My clavicle never seemed to heal so went to him after a CT scan. He said he couldn’t operate on this area and to take it as easy as possible. He mentioned it was very possible to heal if I protected it while doing my regular daily routines.

I must say, it seems to feel better and I know he was right. I feel very confident in his work. If, by any chance, I happen to have another fall again (which I won’t), I have a very knowledgeable doctor who will treat me as he sees fit. I’m sure you will be very happy with him, as well, if you need a Orthopedic Doctor in your future.

I liked the EXCEL program and felt the care that I received from Dr. Arthur and staff at Interlude, Plymouth was excellent. My goal was to go on a previously planned trip to Peru about 3 1/2 months post-op with my husband and sons, ages 22 and 25. I was able to do everything I had hoped to in Peru; including a 5 mile round-trip hike through a muddy, rutted ravine to and from Lake Sandoval in the Amazon rainforest, and hiking and climbing around Machu Picchu, where the limiting factor for all of us was the altitude, not my hip!

I had my first hip replacement in November 2017 and the 2nd in February 2018. I was discharged the following day and the first night home I went up 14 steps to the bedroom with no problem. Before and after both surgeries I was faithful in doing the recommended exercises. Dr. Arthur and his team were very professional, helpful and easy to communicate with. This week I will have my 81st birthday and am back with the Minnetonka Senior Bike Club. All I can say is “Hip, Hip Hurray”.

Dr. Arthur,

You have once again done a wonderful job with giving me another new hip! Thank you, thank you so very much! I am back to my routine activities without pain! What a great feeling! I am always in awe of doctors like you who can perform such surgeries. God bless your work always. Please extend my thanks also to Kyle Exsted and the other staff members of your team.

Gratefully yours,

Inta G.

Dear Dr. Arthur,

I certainly wouldn’t expect you to remember me. In my case, it’s coming up on two years now since you performed a total hip replacement on November 11th, 2015.  I would not be at all surprised if you hear from any number of patients of your who tell you they only wish they would not have waited so long before coming to see you. It was certainly true in my case.

Other than a relatively challenging first week or two after the surgery, I felt so much better that it motivated me in an incredible way to be the best “post-surgery patient” I could be. What you did for me motivated me in another way, as well. As I began the process of healing & doing my post op exercises & stretches, I became determined to start eating healthier & drop the burdensome weight that probably had much to do with my needing to have my hip replaced, in the first place.

As I recall, when I weighed in for my pre op exam, back in October of 2015, I weighted approximately 235 lbs, fully clothed.  Today, I fluctuate between 145-150 lbs, fully clothed. In my desire to become healther & be “kinder” to my joints, I started really studying nutrition. I’ve learned so much & love the way I eat not. This summer, I had my cholesterol checked & the total was 101 with LDL below 50. I walk almost every day now, & completed a 15 mile walk a few months ago. Aside from some soreness the rest of that day, I was almost as good as new the very next.  During my pre op exam, the doctor discovered an irregular heart beat & that is now gone. Furthermore, my blood pressure dropped enough that I now only need one of the two blood pressure meds that I was taking at the time of my hip replacement. I’ll be 67 years old in a few weeks & would not have guessed that I could feel this good or have so much energy at this stage of life.

In closing, even though I made it worse than it had to be by waiting so long before coming to you, the fine job you did got the ball rolling for me. Thank you so much for getting me back on my feet, in more ways than one.

Regards,

Ken S.

I have been a patient of Dr. Arthur’s for several years. Gladly, I can say that a true doctor-patient relationship has emerged, enough where I drive in from the Brainerd lakes area to be seen by Dr. Arthur and his staff. I trust his information and judgment, and he is a doctor that listens to his patients and values their input. This, is a very important element for me in a doctor. He has surgically repaired my knee, and I am grateful to be able to able to do my pre-condition activities. Thank you Dr. Arthur and your wonderful staff.

I would like to take a few moments to recognized the team of individuals at Twin Cities Orthopedics who help me through my ACL injury recovery progress. On February 26th I tore my ACL and went to Twin Cities Orthopedic Urgent Care. On February 28th, I saw Dr. Arthur and it was determined that ACL Replacement/Reconstruction was the best option for me. On March 2nd, I saw Jay Schindler, Physical Therapist to establish a baseline for recovery. On March 7th, the ACL replacement/reconstruction took place. After surgery, I began physical therapy on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Jay and his assistant Shannon were absolutely the best. They knew when to recommend going down to one crutch, removing the knee brace, walking without crutches and what stretching/exercise were best to help me recover quickly. I am doing really well and would like to recognize them for caring about their patients and doing such a fabulous job. Thank you!!

Thanks Dayna for your help getting the team the recognition they so much deserve.

I felt comfortable throughout the process and procedure. I had complete confidence that I was going to feel better after recovery, and in fact, I did. Could not recommend Dr. Arthur more highly.

On Dec. 3, 2012, I fell from a ladder hanging Christmas lights. My kneecap was broken into three pieces, and my wrist was broken from trying to catch the fall. My wrist was at right angle to my forearm. Dr. Arthur did the surgery, and I have never been happier. No problems, no aches, just healing from a terrible fall. My wife and I both talk about how excellent the surgery went, even today, September 2015. I would certainly recommend Dr. Arthur to anyone, anytime.

Dr. Arthur, just want to say a big Thank You for putting my collar bone back together. I was back to work in just 2 days and it feels better than ever. Great job to you and your staff.  I will be recommending you to all my active, outdoor, risk-taking friends.

It only took a month for Kerry H. to return to the links after his total replacement with Andrew F. Arthur, MD. He was pain-free and playing better than ever. “Within the next week I had walked three 18-hole rounds,” he said. “My handicap has dropped from 20 to 14 this summer.” Not only that, but he hit a hole in one (pictured). “How could I be more delighted?” he said.
