Celebrating Physician Assistants – David Law, PA-C
How long have you been working as a physician assistant?
I have been a physician assistant (PA) since 2004, always focused on Orthopaedics, but I’ve also worked urgent care and in the emergency room.
What influenced you to pursue a career as a physician assistant?
My father would take me fishing at our lake home as a child. He would show me how the heart of the fish would still beat after we cleaned it, which I always found fascinating. I love helping people and I feel that I’ve received a calling to work in medicine. When I was sick in high school, my interaction with a PA solidified my desire to become one.
What do you enjoy most about being a physician assistant?
Being a PA allows me to have personal interaction with patients in the clinical setting. This allows me to shed light on their ailments, give appropriate treatments, and assist in surgery to help improve the patient’s quality of life.
