Difference Makers: Jean Giles

June 27, 2018 - TCO

Difference Makers: Jean Giles

Say hello to Jean from our Edina – Crosstown location. As a patient services representative in the MRI department, she places emphasis on variety in her day-to-day at Twin Cities Orthopedics, but even more important is how she keeps patients’ and her colleagues’ best interest in mind.

Jean always is looking for ways to improve processes and create efficiencies. She’s also known for her calm and cool demeanor when problem solving. These are just a couple reasons why she’s one of our Difference Makers!

Difference Makers: Jean GilesWhat’s your role?

My main duties are scheduling, prior authorizations and taking care of imaging reports coming into the clinic.

Favorite thing about working at TCO

I have been with TCO for 14 years, so I guess I must really like it here! I have had a lot of different jobs over the years, but usually after three years I would be ready to move on. I finally figured out that I just needed variety. I get a lot of that at TCO, and I love the people I work with!

How do you make a difference?

If there is one thing I have learned over the years it’s to not worry. Things always seem to work out in the end. When you always try your best, you feel good about yourself.

Favorite things outside of work

I spend a lot of my time with family and friends. I have two cool grandsons, a mother who is 91 and full of life, eight siblings and their spouses and 21 nieces and nephews. Our favorite thing to do is camp, and we do a lot of it! My dog, Bart, and cat, Nika, are always waiting anxiously for me to get home. What more can you ask for?

What’s one place in the U.S. you’ve never been where you’d like to travel?

Hmm, there are so many places. I think foremost I would like to go to New York to see the World Trade Center Memorial and Washington, D.C., to go to the Smithsonian.

Thanks, Jean, for Being the Difference!

Twin Cities Orthopedics has been named one of the Top 150 Workplaces for eight consecutive years by the Star Tribune, and one of the main reasons is because of our amazing team members who make a difference every day.
