Meet the 2025-26 TCO Fellows
A new class. A fresh perspective. A shared passion for pushing what’s possible in orthopedics.
Please welcome Dr. Michael Anderson (Foot & Ankle), Dr. Taylor Freetly (Sports Medicine), and Dr. Ethan Sawyer (Sports Medicine), the newest fellows joining TCO for the 2025–26 academic year.
Each brings a distinct path and purpose. They look forward to collaborating, innovating, and carrying forward the high standards of care that define our fellowship program.
Dr. Anderson was born and raised in Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin for his medical degree. He completed his Orthopedic Residency at Wright State University before his fellowships at Hennepin County Medical Center in Adult Reconstruction/Trauma and at SUNY Buffalo in Sports Medicine. He began his career as an orthopedic surgeon in Wisconsin before returning to Minneapolis to work at the VA Medical Center. In his free time, Dr. Anderson enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Freetly grew up in Kerkhoven, Minnesota. He graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical University and returned to Minnesota for his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Freetly enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with his wife, three daughters, and two dogs.
Dr. Sawyer is a native of Brandon, South Dakota. He attended medical school at Creighton University before completing his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Toledo. In his free time, Dr. Sawyer enjoys pheasant hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his wife and three young children.
We wish this group the best as they begin an exciting new chapter.
TCO is proud to foster an environment where curiosity fuels progress, and learning turns into lasting impact.
