New Type of Crutch Helps Make Recovery Easier

Mobilegs are helping make recovery from surgery a little easier for patients at Twin Cities Orthopedics. The new, patient friendly crutches are designed to keep patients safer and improve comfort during the orthopedic recovery process. Used in pairs, the base form of the crutch is superior to that of standard crutches. Benefits of the crutch include:

  • A rocker shaped tip (bottom of the crutch), which creates more contact with the ground.
  • Hand grips that are formed to be ergonomically correct and allow for left and right side options.
  • A webbed saddle (top of crutch) that moves up and down for extra comfort.

The TCO Edina location is currently using the crutches, with other locations soon to follow. Patients who need crutches for longer periods of time can also upgrade their Mobilegs for $60. The upgraded version of the crutches includes an improved handgrip and has up and down shock absorbers that make using the crutches even more comfortable.
