As a rheumatologist, Dr. Thueringer specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Sjogren’s syndrome, scleroderma, vasculitis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, polymyositis/dermatomyositis, polymyalgia rheumatica, gout, and pseudogout.
Dr. Thueringer finds the breadth and complexity of diseases encountered in rheumatology rewarding to treat. She makes it a priority to stay up to date on evidence-based medicine and places a strong emphasis on providing high-quality, personalized treatment to each one of her patients. Dr. Thueringer believes the best care is achieved through teamwork with her patients and understands the importance of finding a treatment plan that meets her patients’ goals and improves their quality of life. Dr. Thueringer finds the most rewarding aspect of rheumatology to be the long-term relationships formed with her patients.
Dr. Thueringer completed her medical education, residency in internal medicine, and fellowship in rheumatology at the University of Minnesota. She has been practicing rheumatology in the Twin Cities and western Wisconsin since 2015. During her years in practice, she has also been involved in teaching rheumatology fellows with the University of Minnesota.
Outside of work, Dr. Thueringer enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She also enjoys running, biking, skiing, relaxing at the cabin, and cooking.

Dr. Thueringer does not manage chronic pain, chronic Lyme, long COVID-19, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, non-inflammatory back pain (degenerative arthritis of the spine, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease), or fibromyalgia.
