Practice Overview

Dr. Kyle Morgenstern is a general orthopedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement including knee, hip, and shoulder replacement as well as the comprehensive treatment of musculoskeletal conditions including meniscal injuries, rotator cuff tears, ligament/tendon tears, hand conditions, and orthopedic trauma.

Originally from East Peoria, Illinois, Dr. Morgenstern completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Bradley University before pursuing a medical degree at Southern Illinois University.  After completing medical school, Dr. Morgenstern completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Minnesota, where he was frequently recognized for his dedication to patients and mentorship to other trainees.  He received the Resident Engagement Award in 2021 and the Resident Role Model Award in 2022 from the University of Minnesota.

In his practice, Dr. Morgenstern values patient autonomy and encourages every patient to be a part of the decision-making process.  Rarely is surgery the only answer, and he will work together with you to create a care plan that achieves your goals in a welcoming, team-based environment.

Patient Testimonials

June 21, 2023

Mary N.

My hip replacement experience was made so much easier with the information I received prior to the surgery. The guidebook for hips was so informative and useful. I followed all of the steps needed before and after surgery, which made everything go so smoothly. Doing the physical therapy before and after surgery made healing go so fast as well. Being 75 years old I thought the recovery would take a long time but 18 days after surgery, I am walking without the use of a walker or cane. I truly believe all of the information I received contributed to my fast recovery. I can’t thank Dr. Morgenstern and TCO enough.
