Ridgeview and TCO announce partnership and plans for new Orthopedic Institute

Ridgeview and Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) have announced plans to jointly develop a new Orthopedic Institute on Ridgeview’s Chaska Campus, scheduled to open in October 2023.

This is the first dedicated orthopedic facility in Minnesota that is a partnership between an independent practice and health system. It combines the world-class services of Ridgeview and TCO with groundbreaking technology in a state-of-the-art facility. The shared goals include achieving high quality in-patient care, improved outcomes, and an exceptional patient experience.

A new fifth floor with 20 hospital beds and six more operating rooms is being added to the Two Twelve Medical Center building on Ridgeview’s Chaska Campus to house the new Orthopedic Institute. Renovations are also occurring on the fourth floor to further accommodate the expanded clinical and support services, for a total of 54,000 additional square feet between the two floors.

“Ridgeview and TCO are longstanding partners in delivering premier care to residents across the southwest metro and beyond. As our communities continue to grow and evolve, we have an amazing opportunity to advance our partnership in new ways to meet the growing health care needs of the region,” said Michael Phelps, President and CEO, Ridgeview. “The development of the Orthopedic Institute in partnership with TCO is a key initiative in Ridgeview’s strategic plan to strengthen and enhance our care capabilities, and create capacity for future growth across our health care system.”

“TCO is excited to expand our partnership with Ridgeview as the orthopedic provider at this new, first-of -its-kind facility,” said Aaron Johnson, CEO of Twin Cities Orthopedics. “The Orthopedic Institute will be a premier regional destination that provides patients with access to world-class orthopedic care.”

Ridgeview will staff clinical and ancillary services to support the Orthopedic Institute’s operations. TCO physicians will provide surgical services and care coordination.
