Pelvic Health Therapy

Specialized care. Comprehensive approach.

At Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO), we understand that pelvic health concerns can be sensitive and sometimes difficult to talk about. That is why we have created a program designed to help you feel comfortable, supported, and empowered throughout your care.

Our Pelvic Health Physical Therapy program offers specialized evaluation and treatment for individuals of all genders who experience pelvic floor dysfunction, pain, or related symptoms. Through evidence-based techniques and individualized treatment plans, we help restore function, build confidence, and improve quality of life.

A Comprehensive Approach to Care

Pelvic floor health is closely connected to the spine, hips, and core. When one area is affected, it can influence multiple systems throughout the body. That is why our team takes a holistic approach by evaluating posture, range of motion, strength, flexibility, and pelvic alignment to uncover the root cause of symptoms. Treatment sessions take place in a private, comfortable setting, where you will work one-on-one with a physical therapist trained in advanced pelvic health techniques. Our goal is to help you regain control and comfort, reduce pain, and improve daily function.

Pelvic Health Physical Therapy Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a pelvic health physical therapist?

In Minnesota and Wisconsin, you do not need a referral to start pelvic health physical therapy at TCO. However, some insurance plans require a referral for coverage. Please check with your insurance company before scheduling an appointment.

What will my first visit look like?

You’ll meet one-on-one with a pelvic health physical therapist who is specially trained in this area of care.  They’ll listen to your symptoms, your story, and your goals. They will complete a thorough evaluation and discuss a personalized plan of care. Most first visits also include time for treatment. Each session lasts about 40-45 minutes. We understand this is a sensitive area and will make sure you feel comfortable at every step.

Can I come in if I’m on my period?

Yes, we have many treatment options and can adjust or delay certain techniques if you prefer.

When should I start physical therapy during pregnancy and postpartum?

It’s never too early or too late to start pelvic health physical therapy during pregnancy. We can help you feel your best and prepare for labor and delivery. After birth, we typically see patients around four to six weeks postpartum or whenever your doctor recommends.

Do you treat all genders?

Yes, pelvic health physical therapy is for everyone. Conditions like pelvic pain, bladder or bowel issues, and core dysfunction can affect anyone. Our physical therapists are trained to provide respectful, individualized care for all patients.

What sets TCO’s Pelvic Health Physical Therapy program apart?

You will have 40-45 minutes, one-on-one sessions where we take time to understand your whole story, not just your symptoms. We work to find the root cause and create a plan of care for lasting results and to meet you where you’re at in your care journey. Our goal is to help you heal, rebuild, and feel supported every step of the way.
