TCO Sports Garden: 5 Things Everyone Should Know

The iconic TCO Sports Garden (formerly Vadnais Sports Center) is a staple of the north metro community, hosting over a million people each year for sporting events and special exhibitions.

Thanks to a new, 15-year partnership with Twin Cities Orthopedics, the prominent sports complex has been freshly re-designed, and more exciting updates are in the works. To keep you up to speed, here are 5 things we think everyone should know about TCO Sports Garden.

1. New Name, Designed for Everyone

The new TCO Sports Garden name and logo were designed to embrace the local community. A sports ‘garden’ is a large public hall for enjoyment and recreation, which is perfect for a facility so many local teams and competitions call home.

The “O” in sports signifies a ball or puck on a playing surface, and the “A” in garden is an arrow pointing north, to signify the north metro and achieving new heights. The blues and greys prominent throughout the logo and facility were chosen to embrace Minnesota’s cold weather pride.

2. Top-Notch COVID-19 Safety Protocols

The COVID-19 safety precautions inside TCO Sports Garden are best in class, with comprehensive athlete and visitor screening, mask requirements, visitor restrictions, and an emphasis on cleaning and disinfection. Heck, there’s even a machine designed to clean those smelly hockey bags!

Visit the TCO Sports Garden website for more information, including how to reserve ice time.

3. World-Class Experts Next Door

Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) is a name synonymous with sports medicine and orthopedic expertise, making the 15-year naming rights partnership a natural fit. Superior athletes require specialized care they can trust.

Conveniently, the TCO Vadnais Heights clinic is literally right next door.

4. TCO Therapy & Sports Performance, Opening Upstairs

This fall, athletes at all levels of competition will have the ability to train and recover like the pros, upstairs on the 2nd level.

Sports performance services, provided by Training HAUS (and powered by TCO), will be offered to interested athletes in the newly renovated space. Training HAUS, with a flagship location on the Viking Lakes campus in Eagan, is an elite athletic performance and recovery philosophy that is unparalleled in the Twin Cities. Utilizing innovative, science-based methods, their industry-leading team of experts—strength coaches, sports dietitians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, biomechanists, sports chiropractors, massage therapists, sports acupuncturist and sports psychologists—work together to form a personalized approach for each individual athlete.

The new sports physical therapy and performance training space is under construction, but follow TCO and Training HAUS on social media to get a feel for what’s to come!

5. Brand New Fieldhouse Under Construction

As onlookers may notice, construction crews have been hard at work building a new, 82,000 square foot indoor turf facility at TCO Sports Garden, complete with a permanent roof structure for year-round activities.

Despite COVID-19 related delays, the site is making great progress, and the anticipated project completion date is November 2020. Visit the Ramsey County website for the latest construction updates.
