He is dedicated to providing the most comprehensive, non-surgical spine care in order to keep patients active and improve their quality of life.

Adam J. Michalik, DO

What are a few interesting facts that people may not know about you?

I have a couple interesting facts! This January, I successfully delivered my daughter in a car on the side of the highway. I also played collegiate soccer at the University of St. Thomas (Go Tommies!).

Why did you go into medicine?

It allows me to make a significant, positive impact in patient’s lives, which is very gratifying.

How did you choose orthopedics?

I was drawn to orthopedics and musculoskeletal medicine given my history of athletic injuries and the profound impact my treating physicians had on my ability to continue playing sports and staying active. I’ve learned that painful spine conditions are extremely common, debilitating problems. Yet, there remains a lack of quality, evidence-based spine care being provided in our communities.

What does your dream practice look like?

My dream practice involves providing conservative (non-surgical), minimally-invasive interventional spine care while having the ability to continue performing spine research.

What is your care philosophy?

I wish to utilize a team-based, interdisciplinary approach that is grounded in multi-modal, comprehensive treatments customized to each individual patient to help decrease pain, improve quality of life, and achieve a patient’s specific goals.

Dr. Michalik will practice at TCO’s Vadnais Heights and Wyoming locations.
