TCO welcomes new physician Dr. Marcus Mittelsteadt

Join us in welcoming our newest physician, Marcus J. Mittelsteadt, MD, to Twin Cities Orthopedics.

Dr. Mittelsteadt is originally from Apple Valley, Minnesota. He did his fellowship training in Foot and Ankle Surgery with renowned surgeons Donald Bohay and John Anderson in Grand Rapids, MI. His training focused on ankle arthritis and ankle replacement, foot deformity reconstruction, bunion surgery, and foot and ankle sports injuries and instability. Dr. Mittelsteadt’s practice treats a wide range of lower extremity ailments from the hip to the foot and ankle, including hip, knee and ankle replacement.

What are a few interesting facts that people may not know about you?

I am energized by the people and communities that make up broader Minnesota as well as the Twin Cities area. If I am not with my family and friends, I am outside in nature – often on the lake in Bemidji.

Why did you go into medicine?

I went into medicine to have the opportunity to care for people while advancing the sciences around health and wellness.

How did you choose orthopedics?

I chose orthopedics because I am passionate about the technical expertise it takes to care for sports and musculoskeletal injuries and ailments. I like having the ability to tangibly improve the lives of my patients with proven interventions.

 What is your care philosophy?

Treating patients requires listening and a willingness to understand. Being an orthopedic surgeon requires technical expertise, and also the mindfulness to address the wholistic needs of the patient.

What does your dream practice look like? 

My dream practice is built around a compassionate, trustworthy, and diligent team of people working toward a common goal of providing stellar care and service to patients.
