TCO Welcomes New Physician Dr. Matthew Hofkens

Join us in welcoming our newest physician, Matthew A. Hofkens, DO, RMSK, to Twin Cities Orthopedics.

Dr. Hofkens joins TCO as a physiatrist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He completed his residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Hofkens’ training and experience allows him to provide expert care for a wide range of orthopedic, musculoskeletal and sports medicine injuries. He sees his medical practice and care team as a community service to promote healthy and active lifestyles to all patients.

What are a few interesting facts that people may not know about you?

My wife and I used to raise service dogs. I’ve taught medical residents at the University of Minnesota for over 10 years. I’m an avid golfer and hold a certificate of medical specialty from the Titleist Performance Institute.

What is your favorite quote?

Why did you go into medicine?

I went into medicine, because I wanted to make a difference in other’s lives. I was inspired by the scientific method and how I could practically apply my love for science and education.

How did you choose orthopedics?

I chose orthopedics, because I have a passion for how the body moves. I love helping others engage in their health while giving them a better understanding of how to improve their functional movement patterns.

What is your care philosophy?

I aim to define patient goals, educate my patients and have a shared decision-making process.

Dr. Hofkens will practice at TCO’s Stillwater and Woodbury locations.
