Robalee L. Wanderman, MD

What are a few interesting facts that people may not know about you?

I am originally from a small town in central Illinois. In my free-time, I enjoy going for walks, hikes, bike rides or just sitting outside and enjoying the day.

Why did you go into medicine?

I decided to go into medicine after working at a summer camp which served medically-complex kids and young adults. I was impressed by the relationship our campers had with the physicians and nurses who volunteered and saw that the patient-physician relationship could be quite profound. I hoped to create this kind of partnership with my patients in order to help them reach their goals in health and in life.

What does your dream practice look like?

My dream practice includes caring for my local community and partnering with patients to define and work toward goals they have set for themselves. Specifically, I hope to help patients reach functional goals that have become difficult due to chronic pain.

What is your care philosophy?

When treating pain, I believe in starting with the least invasive yet effective options first. I use a shared decision-making process with clear and honest communication.

Dr. Wanderman will practice at TCO’s Burnsville and Eagan-Viking Lakes locations.
