I met Dr. Thomas Comfort March of 2016. He decided I needed to have a new left knee so I proeceded to do what I was told by his staff. I started exercises before so it would easier after for me to recover post surgery. It worked very well.  I had very good recovery and I am able to get around.

As of late 2016 my left started to act up, so again I went to Dr. Comfort and found out I needed a left hip replaced. He did a total hip replacement and things went great. Within days after the surgery I was getting around with no pain or discomfort.

Now 1 year after my knee surgery and 3 months after my hip surgery I am able to get around like I did some years back. Thank you to Dr. Comfort and his team for all they have done.

After experiencing severe pain in my right hip, I met with Dr. O’Keefe and he advised cortisone shots which got me through the golf season.  He then suggested a total hip replacement and after surgery I was up and walking the next day with little discomfort.  I was able to go home in less than 2 days.  I am now looking forward to getting my left hip replaced.

I can’t say enough good things about the care that I received from Dr. Chris Larson, his physician assistant Kevin R. and support staff. Dr. Larson has operated on both of my hips for femoral acetabular impingement. The condition of both of my hips was debilitating. I no longer live in constant pain and I am able to do all athletic and recreational activities that I love. Thank you Dr. Larson for your clinical and research commitment to FAI!

I had a catastrophic back injury in 2005 from a work related accident where my L5-S1 disk was destroyed.  I tried every single treatment imaginable in order to avoid surgery.  I tried therapies ranging from bio-electric therapy to injections to traction to core strengthening.  None of that worked.  Strength wasn’t my issue either.  I was in massive pain for a year where it felt like I had a screwdriver stuck into my spine and someone would occasionally twist it.  I visited Dr. Holte and he knew exactly what needed to be done.  His calm and professional demeanor put me at ease.  Dr. Holte did a L5-S1 fusion where he went in through my stomach (thus avoiding cutting the smaller muscles in my back) and he fused my spine from the front.  My family said that during my recovery from surgery he spent time with them and answered every question they had as well and put them at ease.  I awoke from my surgery and never had a hint of back pain since.  It has been over a decade since Dr. Holte fixed my spine and I haven’t ever had a pain in my back.  Nor have I had any issues with any other parts of my back.  In addition, outside of having to sit down sideways to tie my shoes because my spine is fused, I have not had my quality of life diminished at all.  In fact, I golf, hunt, fish, play sports and am active with my 10 year old daughter and 15 year old boy that I mentor.  Basically I have no limitations on what I can do in life.  Dr. Holte did an amazing job with my back and his expertise and professionalism with my family was greatly appreciated.  Anyone considering having anything done with their back would be wise to see Dr. Holte first.  I literally would trust him with my life and future as he should he was more than capable of looking after mine a decade ago.

When even lifting a mug of coffee caused pain, I knew I needed to address my worsening shoulder issues. I’d had other replacements but surgery on my right arm concerned me. Dr. Peter Sanders, who sees patients at RC Hospital in Olivia, listened carefully and answered all my questions, putting me at ease. His professionalism and skill were evident, but he also showed a passion for what he does and a desire to use his skills to help his patients. The results from my shoulder joint replacement are remarkable. It took some time but thanks to Dr. Sanders and our Big Stone Therapy group in Olivia, I am completely pain-free and back into life!

I want to personally thank Dr. Holthusen for his excellent care and expertise with my 16 year old daughter. My daughter had her foot repaired and a bunion removed via surgery with Dr. Holthusen last October. Dr. Holthusen’s expertise made both my daughter and I feel confident right at the beginning of planning her surgery. He took wonderful care of my daughter during surgery and in the months that followed during her recovery. My daughter experienced very little pain post surgery and never suffered during the healing process. Dr. Holthusen’s thorough follow up for four months post surgery gave my daughter the reassurance of her progress. She is now fully healed, walking running and active with no pain. And she can now wear fancy shoes all thanks to Dr. Holthusen.

I was very fortunate to select Dr. Randall Lewis to perform my knee replacement surgery. He is a skilled surgeon that takes the time to listen to your concerns and does his best to eliminate any anxiety you may have. He leads a team of well trained professionals that clearly care for the well-being of their patients.  I am an ordinary guy that was treated like the most important person on earth on the day of my surgery.  From the time I checked in until the time I was discharged from the hospital things could not have gone better.  I am forever grateful to Dr. Lewis and his entire staff!

See my big smile?  Due to the efforts of Dr. Timonthy Panek, and his Twin Cities Orthopedics team, I reached my last goal in my hip rehabilitation:  returning for my twenty third year to hike in the Swiss Alps near the town of Grindelwald., Switzerland.   My successful recovery came through hard work, setting reachable goals and persistence on my part.   Both pre and post-surgery, I set goals, and as I successfully completed one or two easier ones, I added more. I always kept my main goal in mind, returning to the Alps to see for myself once again the pristine Lake Balcupsee surrounded by the majestic Alps just above Grindelwald.,  It was totally worth the year spent in my rehab effort.

This is the 3rd total knee replacement revision in 10 years.  The first two revisions were done by other physicians.  Dr.Arntson performed the third revision and it is the best one yet. Dr.Arntson and his team were awesome. They seemed to care about me and this surgery more than any surgeries I had previously. I just want to thank Dr. Arntson for doing a great job and making me feel special.
