D.J. Vanden Berge, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in primary and revision joint replacements of the hip and knee. He has trained in and offers the latest technology in hip and knee replacements including robotic-assisted surgery, partial knee replacements, and utilizes minimally invasive techniques including the direct anterior approach to the hip. Dr. Vanden Berge treats and evaluates all musculoskeletal conditions and provides both surgical and non-surgical treatment options to provide the most optimal care for his patients.
Dr. Vanden Berge grew up in Texas and completed his undergraduate training at Texas A&M University, followed by medical school at Texas Tech University. He then moved to Miami, FL to complete his orthopedic residency at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, serving as Chief Resident during his final year. Dr. Vanden Berge pursued additional specialized training at the University of Chicago where he focused on joint replacement surgery. During that time, he learned how to manage primary and complex revision disorders of the hip and knee.
Outside of work, Dr. Vanden Berge and his wife, Olivia, who also works in healthcare as a urologist, love spending time with their family and staying active outdoors. They are very happy to call Minneapolis home and provide quality care to their neighbors in the Twin Cities area.
