J. P. Smith, MD Honored by the University of Minnesota

J. P. Smith, MD was recently honored by the University of Minnesota Athletic Department for his 25 years of service as the football team’s orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Smith was presented with a framed number 25 football jersey from Athletics Director Joel Maturi commemorating his quarter century of service to the Athletic Department at the University of Minnesota.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Medicine, Dr. Smith joined the Gophers’ sports medicine staff in 1985. Maturi commented during the presentation, “During his tenure, Dr. Smith has shown unparalleled commitment and dedication in providing the best possible orthopedic care for our student athletes.”
