Practice Overview

Dr. Alexander Bisch, DO is a primary care sports medicine physician specializing in the non-operative treatment of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. He cares for patients across the lifespan and emphasizes evidence-based, patient-centered care with a focus on clear communication and shared decision-making. Dr. Bisch also utilizes point-of-care ultrasound in clinic to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Bisch grew up in southern Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota, where he studied kinesiology and exercise physiology while competing as a collegiate football athlete and earning Academic All–Big Ten recognition. He completed medical school in South Carolina, followed by residency training in family medicine, before returning to the University of Minnesota for subspecialty fellowship training and certification in sports medicine.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and young daughter, home improvement projects, and hiking with his wife and dog.

He took the time to earn our son’s trust, allowing him to open up in ways no one else had. He paid close attention to his facial expressions and nonverbal cues, recognizing the pain our son was trying so hard to hide. Dr. Bisch’s compassion, thoroughness, and attention to detail made us feel like he was caring for our son as if he were his own child. He refused to overlook anything and made sure every concern was thoroughly evaluated.

We also cannot say enough about Karli. She truly listened, made sure our son was seen quickly when he needed to be, and always returned our calls promptly. Her compassion, responsiveness, and genuine care made an incredibly difficult time so much easier to navigate. Together, Dr. Bisch and Karli are an unstoppable team. We are beyond grateful for their expertise, kindness, and unwavering dedication. We couldn’t recommend them more highly.

I had been suffering with a severe outbreak of gout that encompassed my entire right hand and wrist for three months. A relative recommended that I try Twin Cities Orthopedics. I made an appointment at TCO Otsego clinic with Dr. Alexander Bisch. His team was able to see me the same week. The location was easy to find, right by Hwy 169. The reception staff was very friendly and quickly got me in to see Dr. Bisch. He did a thorough exam of my hand and agreed that I did have a severe flare up of gout. He prescribed several medications to help reduce the pain and swelling. Most of the pain was gone in a couple of days. I would highly recommend Dr. Bisch and the team at TCO Otsego to anyone needing quality orthopedic care.
