Practice Overview

Gregory Scallon, MD, was raised in central Iowa and trained throughout the Midwest. His undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University set him on the path toward orthopedic surgery.  Dr. Scallon completed medical training at the University of Iowa College of Medicine, residency at the University of Minnesota, and his Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He and his wife, who is also an orthopedic surgeon, have two young boys. Dr. Scallon enjoys spending time outdoors, gardening, biking, playing instruments, and woodworking.

Dr. Scallon’s primary clinical focus is on the diagnosis and treatment of lower extremity disorders, particularly of the foot and ankle. This includes malalignment, sports injuries, trauma and fractures, bunion surgery, and ankle replacements. The foot and ankle is a complex structure that has to absorb and disperse weight with every step. As a result, there are many different ways to tackle problems, including surgical and non-operative management. This requires a personal connection between Dr. Scallon and his patients to understand their goals and find the best solution.

Clark C.

I was unable to walk without pain for many years due to the pain in my foot. Dr. Scallon performed the fusion surgery, eliminating pain and allowing me to resume hiking, a favorite past time of mine. Three weeks after surgery, I was able to hike various trails over in Zion National Park (wearing a boot), each hike being over two miles in length and 200+ feet in elevation change. It was night and day from the previous five years where I was extremely limited in my mobility. Dr. Scallon was very attentive to all of my concerns both pre- and post-surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Scallon for any issue involving your feet or ankles!

Dr. Gregory Scallon and staff went beyond the call of duty for my son and family. My family has an autistic son who needs to get his foot corrected due to the fact that he is ASD. My wife and I went to multiple orthopedic surgeons and none of them could meet our son’s need. Finally, our last stop was Twin Cities Orthopedics and we were able to find Dr. Gregory Scallon he performed the best surgery for our son and helped with the correction of his feet.

I am a retired USMC Veteran of Desert Storm. Dr. Scallon and the staff went beyond the call of duty. They are very professional and helpful. I give them 10 stars!
