The Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) Basketball Specialty Interest group consists of physical therapists, strength coaches, and athletic trainers who are passionate about evaluating and treating basketball players, of all ages and skill levels, who are seeking to return to the court. Treating sport-related concussion (SRC) takes a team. TCO offers expert physical therapists who will develop a plan for safe return to activity following SRC. New research shows early treatment of SRC by skilled professionals is safe and effective in earlier resolution of symptoms, earlier recovery, & decreased risk of prolonged recovery in concussion. Individualized treatment plans may include graded exercise prescription, vestibular rehabilitation, ocular-motor rehabilitation, and cervical spine rehabilitation.

TCO and Training HAUS hockey specialists consist of rehabilitation experts with extensive knowledge and experience in training, coaching, and rehabilitation of hockey athletes. Their expertise allows them to identify and provide hockey specific intervention programs for both surgical and non-surgical injuries. Due to the unique demands of ice hockey, TCO and Training HAUS have worked to bridge the return to play gap by providing on-ice rehabilitation at TCO Sports Garden in Vadnais Heights. Our group of Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) Olympic Weightlifting providers are passionate about helping athletes and patients learn to optimize their positioning, maximize their movement patterns, and enhance their performance for the Snatch and Clean & Jerk. As movement specialists, we provide individualized assessment, skilled cuing, and excellent team communication in order to assist in reducing injury risk and facilitating the injured athlete’s return to Olympic Weightlifting and Competitive Fitness Sports.

Our overhead athlete program is data-driven and designed to be used as a guide for both youth and high-level athletes participating in baseball/softball, swimming, and volleyball. Goals of the program include preventing injuries and returning to throwing after an injury and/or time off.

The Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) Performing Arts Specialty Group consists of medical and allied health providers with specialty training to support both youth and adult dancers, gymnasts, skaters, musicians, singers, circus artists, and other movers return to performing arts after injury or surgery. The Performing Arts team of physicians, physical therapists and athletic trainers have advanced training in performing arts medicine to hone in on unique diagnoses that impact performance artists’ abilities quickly, and then develop a focused plan that supports recovery to blend artistic and athletic needs.
These performing arts athletes will also have access to additional cash-based services including: private dance technique lessons, pre-pointe assessments, reformer Pilates lessons, chiropractic care, massage, acupuncture, nutrition, mindset coaching, personal training, and group-based strength & conditioning programs for teams.

The Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) Soccer Specialty Group consists of a group of specialists that are uniquely equipped to evaluate and treat soccer players of all ages and ability levels seeking to return to the field. Our Physical Therapists and Athletic Trainers are skilled in identifying deficits causing dysfunction and pain specific to the soccer athlete. Our team is aware of the demands of the sport and are knowledgeable in the current research and treatment techniques to treat both surgical and non-surgical soccer injuries.
In addition to treating patients in the clinic, we are also involved in the metro soccer community through various partnerships and initiatives. We currently work with several soccer clubs, both on the youth and semi-professional level, and provide various medical and educational services to these clubs.

Testing for Return to Athletic Competition (TRAC) is a Training HAUS program designed to monitor rehabilitation from early post-surgical stages through the return to sport. Data collected during testing will be used to understand the specific biomechanics of the patient to optimize the rehab process to the patients’ individual needs. The TRAC program utilizes a collaborative approach in the clearance for sport decision by including all medical providers involved in the process. Pilates is a low impact system of exercises that creates body awareness in addition to correcting muscle imbalances that consists of mobility, stability, flexibility and strength. This can be a very useful approach to rehabilitate a variety of musculoskeletal issues and injuries and our pilates focused Physical Therapists incorporate this into their treatment plan.
Yoga is a low impact physical activity that can improve flexibility, strength, and balance for improved movement quality. Yoga connects the mind and body through movement, breathing and meditation. This can be a very useful approach to rehabilitate a variety of musculoskeletal issues and injuries and our yoga focused Physical Therapists incorporate this into their treatment plan.
