TCO hand therapy tech literally goes the extra mile
Meet Megan Martie, a hand therapy tech who recently received our “You Made a Difference” award for helping a patient who was lost.
At the end of her workday, Megan met a patient in the Stillwater clinic parking lot who was lost and without a phone. The patient needed to pick up medical records at TCO’s business office on the other side of Stillwater. After providing directions for the individual who wasn’t familiar with the area, Megan decided to drive to the business office herself and have the patient follow behind. They arrived before the office closed for the day, and the patient received the needed records.
Now let’s get to know more about Megan!
What’s your role as hand therapy tech?
Megan: I do insurance verification for the hand therapists. I also do their supply inventory and orders, along with schedule and template updates. I travel to hand therapy locations in Lake Elmo, Stillwater, Vadnais Heights, Woodbury and Wyoming once per week to help with the clinic flow and do their supply orders.
How do you make a difference?
Megan: I just try to put the patient’s needs first. Helping others has always been something I’ve found gratifying, so it’s a win-win situation!
What’s your favorite thing about working at TCO?
Megan: My favorite thing about working at TCO is that it’s a positive work environment. My colleagues value the work each of us put in. My managers make me feel appreciated and valued.
What are your favorite things to do outside of work?
Megan: I love to be with my family; my husband and I have two young boys who are full of energy. I am also a photographer and love that I’m able to work at TCO and have my own business.
What’s one place in the continental U.S. you’ve never been where you’d like to travel?
Megan: Utah! My family loves to be outdoors and explore. My husband and I traveled to Colorado this spring and would love to see what Utah’s landscapes have to offer!
Awesome work, Megan. Thank you for being the difference!
