Maura Scanlon Hartigan, MD
What is an interesting fact that people may not know about you?
I traveled with Smile Network to Hanoi, Vietnam as a volunteer anesthesiologist. I also worked as an EMT for Georgetown Emergency Response Medical Services (GERMS) in Washington D.C. On top of being a proud mother of two, I enjoy playing classical piano.
Why did you go into medicine?
I was inspired to go into medicine because of my father who is an internist and my role model. Through watching my father as a young child, I was able to witness the exciting challenges in medicine, the ultimate joys and the importance of serving others.
What does your dream practice look like?
My dream practice would be based on a multidisciplinary and collaborative team approach. It is dedicated to serving patients with chronic pain and improving their overall quality of life
What is your care philosophy?
I believe in choosing the least invasive treatment options possible, in order to improve overall pain, function and allow patients to return to the activities they enjoy doing.
What is your favorite quote?
“For our own success to be real, it must contribute to the success of others.” — Eleanor Roosevelt
Dr. Scanlon Hartigan will practice at TCO’s Blaine, Maple Grove and Robbinsdale locations.
