TCO welcomes new physician Dr. TJ Ridley
Join us in welcoming our newest physician, TJ Ridley MD, to Twin Cities Orthopedics.
Dr. Ridley is a sports medicine fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery, as well as minimally invasive knee and shoulder replacement. He offers assessment and diagnostic care as a sports medicine/orthopaedic surgeon for all musculoskeletal conditions as well as activity-related sports injuries. He provides treatments ranging from medications and therapies to surgical and non-surgical procedures.

What are a few interesting facts that people may not know about you?
I am a recent patient myself. This past year, I underwent both right and left hip arthroscopy with labral repairs. Through this, I have developed a much deeper appreciation for what a patient goes through before, during, and after surgery. It’s not only a struggle and burden on the patient, but also the family and caretakers. I have learned the incredible importance of clear communication and the extreme benefits of diligent physical therapy before and after the procedure. Additional fun facts about myself: I had the amazing opportunity to travel with both the US Junior Ski Team in Norway and the US Snowboard team in Switzerland this past year. I got married to my beautiful wife the past October. While living in Colorado this past year, both my wife and I fell in love with hiking and fly fishing while deepening our existing love for skiing. We recently moved back to Northeast Minneapolis where we are excited to explore the ever-growing food scene and spend time on the lakes.
How did you choose orthopedics?
In orthopedics, we have the rare opportunity to improve a patient’s quality of life by helping them deal with both physical injury and return them to the activities they love. As an athlete and outdoor enthusiast, I know what it means to want to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle.
