I cannot thank Dr. Flikkema enough for the incredible care and skill he showed during my recent shoulder surgery. I had a very extensive injury, a complete tear of both the supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons with the supraspinatus completely retracted. This made the surgery much more difficult and complex.

From the very first consultation, Dr. Flikkema took the time to explain my condition in detail, outline the risks involved, and set realistic expectations for both the surgery and recovery. He was honest, thorough, and patient in answering all my questions, which gave me great confidence going into the procedure. The surgery itself was a complete success. Dr. Flikkema was able to reattach both tendons with precision, despite the complexity of the repair. My physical therapist even commented on how well the repair was done. I want to recognize Jordan Schauer for her exceptional customer service and support throughout my physical therapy journey. Scheduling appointments, managing changes, and keeping everything organized can be a challenge, but Jordan handled it flawlessly. Dr. Kelly performed my right shoulder reverse replacement. I am 92 years old, and my right arm had a 5% range of motion. I am right-handed, so the lack of function in my right arm was a challenge. I live independently in my own home, and performing day to day functions was difficult. I had two goals when I decided to have the surgery. The first goal was pain reduction, which has been achieved. I now have no pain related to my right shoulder. The second goal was to increase the functionality of my right arm so I could perform normal daily functions again. I now have 100% range of motion and can lift my arm above my head. I can now drive my car. I can now use a cane or walker, which I had not been able to do for about a year. Dr. Kelly and his team were professional and compassionate throughout my surgery journey. I felt very good about the process and the end result.

I am a service electrician who wasted a lot of time going to the chiropractor and working in pain for the last year. It turned out to be a cyst in between the L4-L5 Left. I had it removed by Dr. Deal in September. By the time the anesthesia wore off, I knew the problem had been solved. Now a month into recovery, I can do most things again, and each week it gets better.

From start to finish, everyone at TCO was fantastic. There were able to answer every question I had. Dr. Marcus Mittelsteadt was friendly and professional. I highly recommend him to anyone. Dr. Hunt performed a partial shoulder replacement on me two months ago. While I am still recovering, I am delighted to share that I have more functionality with my arms than I ever have before. I’ve been a patient of TCO for many years. I’ve broken my femur three times, had a hip replacement, stress fractures, and a broken foot. Not great bones.

Through it all, I’ve always felt like I was in great hands at TCO. During my recent MRI, the power went out. It was frightening, but the staff handled it the best they could. I spoke with Matt afterward, and he is an absolute gift to the TCO family.

When I came back two weeks later, I was really nervous. Matt Grey happened to be working that day, and he took care of me. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone more kind, gentle, and reassuring. He got me through the MRI with ease, and I’m so grateful.

I’ve guided Dr. Vorlicky for nearly 15 years. We’ve shared a lot of great hunts together, but this one took an unexpected turn. While unloading gear after a long ride into the mountains, I felt a sharp pain shoot through my lower back, pain that only got worse as the night went on. I couldn’t sleep, and before long, I couldn’t move either. Miles from anywhere, Dr. Vorlicky went from hunter to physician in an instant.

With a satellite connection, he arranged for medication to be flown in by plane. I’ve never been a big fan of Starlink in the wilderness, but this time, it saved me. When things still weren’t improving, Dr. Vorlicky made a call I’ll never forget. He packed up camp, loaded me into his truck, and drove 24 hours straight back to Minnesota to get me care.

Along the way, he made a few phone calls. By the next day, I was in for an MRI and a same-day injection with Dr. Aaron Bloom at TCO. From start to finish, every person I met made me feel like I was in the right place. The care was seamless, fast, and professional.

I’d never been to Minnesota before, but I have friends from there and always heard about ‘Minnesota Nice.’ I can now confirm it’s a real thing. Everyone I met was kind, helpful, and genuine. Dr. Vorlicky still managed to get his elk while I was laid up, but we’re both looking forward to a do-over where I can stay on my feet.
