Dr. Dwivedi is wonderful. From the first time I met him, I felt he was empathetic, kind, and compassionate. He is a great listener, and we planned my treatment together. My thumb is feeling better and stronger each day. I am very pleased with my recovery and overall experience!

Over twelve years ago, I underwent a partial knee replacement at Twin Cities Orthopedics. Following the surgery, I regained the ability to engage in various physical activities, including golf, tennis, pickleball, and volleyball. The surgery had a profound impact on my life. In 2025, my other knee was causing significant limitations on my daily activities. Without knee replacement surgery, I encountered difficulties with stairs and even lifting my leg to get into a car. The doctor who had done my partial knee had retired and after finding online resources and friends, I went to Dr. Bircher for a consultation. During the consultation, Dr. Bircher provided me with a comprehensive diagnosis and recommended surgery. However, he refrained from pressuring me into a quick procedure. Instead, he offered me a detailed treatment plan and recovery timeline, assuring me that he would address the issue when I was ready.

I had the surgery in mid-November. Two and a half weeks later, I am walking without crutches or a walker, and most importantly without pain medication. Both the procedure and recovery process have undergone significant advancements since my partial knee replacement years ago. Dr. Bircher used robotics during the surgery to ensure the utmost precision. As someone with experience in aerospace manufacturing, the use of robotics made sense. Additionally, he recommended acquiring a pedaling machine for in-home recovery, which could potentially reduce my recovery time by up to 30%. While I do not recall specific details about my partial knee replacement, I can confidently say that it took over a month before I could pedal a stationary bike. With Dr. Bircher’s guidance, I began pedaling on my first day home. Dr. Bircher and his team are exceptional. If you are experiencing knee issues, I strongly recommend seeking treatment from his team.

In January, I completed my physical therapy and have begun returning to my normal activities. This mainly consists of playing weekly open gym volleyball and virtual reality pickleball at home. I have been playing long sessions in these sports with no issues. In addition to these incredible accomplishments, I spent five days last week in New Orleans where walking was always on uneven, broken, and sloped cobblestone sidewalks. When I say incredible accomplishments, that is not because I never thought I would play volleyball and pickleball again, but because I never thought I would be able to do this level of activity so soon!

I do notice that standing for long periods of time, such as cooking, can cause my leg to feel a bit stiff. As soon as I start moving everything loosens back up after a few steps. Even when I was walking more than usual, the knee itself never hurt. I am still rebuilding the muscle tone for navigating stairs, especially when carrying any excess weight, but that is improving as well. Dr. Bircher and his team are exceptional. If you are experiencing knee issues, I strongly recommend seeking treatment from his team. Thank you to Dr. Bircher and his team who have helped me get a new lease on life.

I fell and broke my right arm. I had just healed from a reverse shoulder replacement on the same arm/shoulder. Dr. Walker did an excellent job and today the X-ray showed the bone had healed. Dr. Walker has an amazing bedside manner and is easy to talk with. I would recommend him to my family and friends! Thank you, Dr. Walker. I am grateful for your expertise and kind demeanor!

For the last seven to eight years, I have had arthritis at the base of my right thumb which is my dominant hand. My treatment consisted of cortisone injections, but they produced diminishing returns over time. I really didn’t want the more common thumb surgeries. Instead, Dr. Koch mentioned thumb sensory denervation, as it had a much shorter recovery time and leaves the thumb functioning as before. It took about three months for complete healing, but I now have my right hand back to normal.

Everything with my surgery went very well, and my recovery improving each day. The mobility in my hand is coming back, and I can do exercises without pain. I really like Dr. Dwivedi and he explained things very well. Thank you!

My experience with my original procedure was good. Unfortunately, I had an accidental fall at home the day after my surgery and ended up breaking a few stitches. I went back to TCO Urgent Care where I was quickly taken care of by Dr. Vanden Berge. He recommended that I check back into the hospital that night so he could perform surgery the next morning. Dr. Vanden Berge gave me a few encouraging words before my second surgery, which made my wife and I feel reassured. He said, “things happen and we will fix it up”, which he did.

At first, I was disappointed since I felt like my fall would slow my rehab. However, that was not the case, and my recovery is going very well. The pain typically happens at night and after my physical therapy exercises which I was told to expect. Falling at home was the only bad part of my recovery experience. I want to give a big thank you to Dr. Vanden Berge and the many people at TCO who had to perform surgery on me twice. I am very pleased with my care from him and his team.

I was in a severe motorcycle accident in October 2025. I broke my ankle completely backwards and completely crushed my foot, amongst many other injuries. With the top half of my foot broken completely through and moved over one toe spot, Dr. Traynor did all the fine tuning that reconnected the network on the top of my foot. I have been able to move, walk, and feel all my toes again. He is a big reason that I will be able to ride again this coming spring.

I broke my ankle on February 14th, 2025 (yes, it was on Valentine’s Day!). I fell down the stairs and completely cracked my ankle! I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to walk the same again. I am only 26 years old and have my whole life ahead of me. Dr. Traynor made this experience the best it could have possibly been. He was patient with all my questions, and he addressed all my concerns to the full extent!

It is now almost a year later. After two surgeries and choosing to have the hardware removed, I feel confident that I can walk as good as I did before the accident. I absolutely recommend Dr. Traynor! He made my experience at Twin Cities Orthopedics an amazing one.
