My name is Constance and I am a very grateful patient of Twin Cities Orthopedics. On May 6, 2014 I had bilateral total knee replacement surgery performed by the brilliant and amazing Dr. Jason Holm. I only have my highest praises for the entire staff at Twin Cities Orthopedics who are extraordinary, phenomenal, outstanding and exceptional! My heart and spirit are overflowing with gratitude, thanksgiving, appreciation and joy for the care team I’ve been blessed with at TCO. It’s been my honor, privilege, and joy to have the gifted and kind Dr. Jason Holm as my surgeon, his assistant Bobbie, Care Coordinator Kelly Hurley, Physical Therapist Maggie Dewitz, the x-ray team, Laurie and Debbie at the front desk, Tia and others whose names I don’t know as my precious and incredible and the best of the best care team! I’m very grateful to each person that works at Twin Cities Orthopedics for their commitment, dedication, sacrifices, and price they paid to obtain their education, training, knowledge, skills and wisdom so that I as a patient have been able to benefit from all of their hard work. My life and health has been greatly improved. Each person has shown professionalism along with respect, graciousness, patience, kindness, understanding, encouragement, support, compassion, thoughtfulness, a genuine interest in my care and well-being, cheerfulness and best of all the loving smiles and hugs! Each person is vital to the care, healing and recovery for a patient. I have a new found appreciation for people in the medical profession. This was the first time I have never had major surgery and a hospital stay. It has been a humbling and emotional experience being vulnerable and dependent on others to help meet my most basic needs. I treasure, value, love and celebrate this precious group of people who are passionate and dedicated to serve and help others in such a profound way!

Dr. Kruse is an excellent surgeon, who carries out double knee replacements in one operation. His expertise and professionalism coupled with a very caring attitude resulted in an excellent outcome. This has changed my life allowing me to do things which I have not been able do for 10 years. I now have no knee pain or discomfort. I cannot praise Dr. Kruse and his team more highly. I would have no difficulty on recommending to Dr. Kruse and his team to anyone considering replacement knee surgery.

It is with the highest regard and gratitude that I write this testimonial on behalf of the incredible Dr. Scott McGarvey and his remarkable staff at Twin Cities Orthopedics. I was thrown from a horse November 1, 2013. As I sat in a field and looked at my ankle which was at 90 degrees, I knew I would need to see Dr. McGarvey – the only doctor I would consider – he had taken amazing care of my mother for many years. My ankle was so severely broken that Dr. McGarvey was concerned that I wouldn’t even be able to walk properly again. His expert surgical skills have allowed me not only to walk but to also run again! During the recovery period, Rhodora encouraged me to text or call her on her personal cell phone – unbelievable personal attention and care! I will be forever grateful to Dr. Scott McGarvey and his staff for getting me back on my feet again! I will be running in the Twin Cities 10 Mile Race and also skiing the Birkie thanks to you!

The surgery went well; the recovery was complete, even though I did not complete therapy or exercises except for a lot of walking. The entire staff at TCO was professional and helpful from beginning to end. I have, and will continue to recommend TCO to others.

This letter is to verify my feelings about my recent complete shoulder replacement operation which you did for me on July 16, 2014. I must tell you that this has to be one of the finest pieces of work you have ever done on a shoulder replacement!! I would give you an A++ as a grade for the work you have done on my shoulder!! As of 2 days ago – 2 weeks from my operation – I can do so very much with my right hand, and arm that it is hard to believe. I can dress myself completely, tie my own shoes, button my clothes, eat meals, (can’t cut meat yet), shower, shave, wash my hair with both hands. I have very little pain from my shoulder area, and can only take Tylenol Extra Strength tablets, as I am allergic to Morphine and all its derivatives, which are the generally accepted pain relief tablets. All in all, Dr. Gulli, as I say again, I am so very pleased with the results of this operation on my shoulder, and want to commend you on such a fine piece of work, and Thank You for doing this great a job on me!!

Tim Jackson has been a dairyman most of his life. As the years passed, his knees wore out. “Two years ago they were getting so bad that I could hardly navigate anymore,” said Tim. He began to get depressed because it was too painful to continue his work and enjoy an active lifestyle. Tim sought help from providers and had some treatment before finding Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO). I had the new direct anterior hip replacement surgery on May 6,2014, home the next day. I didn’t even bother with a walker, and after 2 weeks I gave up the cane. It was an incredibly easy experience, and if it gets any easier it could be drive through surgery. I will definitely recommend Dr. O’Neill to some friends who are contemplating hip surgery. The entire staff is top notch, and I was kept completely informed on what to expect throughout the entire process.

Dr. Barry and his staff and group did a great job. I had total knee replacement on 12/10/13. On 12/12/13 I could stand on my right leg without being supported by anything. I could not walk for a week without a walker. I had PT 2 times a day for 5 days in the hospital.  After 3 weeks I was already driving.  Then by February I was playing handball and played in the MN State Handball Association Golden Masters Doubles Handball Tournament March 7-8, 2014. I had PT 2 times a week for 9 weeks. I also did water exercises for 6 weeks. I still have scar tissue in my right knee and still stretch every day. I continue to play hand ball four days a week. Many of my fellow handball players have told me knee and hip replacements work out great, our only regret was WE waited too long to have the procedure. P.S. I plan to play in the MN State Handball Association Handball singles Tournament April 25th at the U of M.

I was told about Dr. Christopher Meyer from a doctor friend of mine who knew of his reputation as an excellent surgeon. Dr. Meyer performed three surgeries on me within a 31 day period, so I feel I’m as good of a reference of his work as anyone could be. I had two total hip replacements and a left carpal tunnel and trigger finger surgery. I honestly think that the talent and expertise that he showed was as good as there is anywhere. I was walking two weeks to the day of my second hip surgery without any assistance of a walker or crutches; this was amazing and made me realize the fine job he had done. It would be wrong of me not to mention the fine supporting cast of assistants and facilities which were used. Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia, MN has a dedicated wing for joint surgeries, which allowed me to have my own room. The care I received from the staff of nurses and physical therapists was truly remarkable. I must also say that Dr. Christopher’s choice of his Physician Assistant Sommer Vaughan was an excellent decision, her knowledge of both office and operation procedure made my experience as smooth and successful as it could be. I truly believe that I could not have gotten better care anywhere and would recommend Dr. Christopher Meyer and his staff to anyone. I met Dr. O’Neill in 2008 when I was having such a difficult time with my knees. The lack of mobility and the pain made simple daily activities impossible. A total ‘knee replacement’ returned me to an active lifestyle. In 2010 I had ‘rotator cuff repair’, and in April of 2014 I had a ‘direct anterior hip replacement.’ The surgical skills of Dr. O’Neill and the aftercare of his team were outstanding. I can be more active now than I was 10 years ago. I would highly recommend him as an orthopedic surgeon.
