I had a total ankle replacement in May with Dr. Tanner. From the first office visit to the last post-op visit, my wife and I were totally impressed with his knowledge and caring attitude. After the first office visit we had we ended up having a few more questions/concerns go through our mind. We called the office with the concerns and Dr. Tanner personally called us back to explain. He came up to my hospital room post-surgery to see how I was doing (not many surgeons themselves do that these days). At the six week f/u visit he took the time to thoroughly examine my ankle (not just having his PA look things over) and he was genuinely interested in my healing process. Many surgeons are a bit “aloof” but Dr. Tanner is not only knowledgeable but passionately concerned about his patients.

In 2005 I was in a bad car accident. I had 40 crushed bones in my right ankle. Dr. Knowlan put everything back together and for 8 years I walked with a brace and a cane. He saved my ankle! Then I got arthritis. It was very painful and Dr. Knowlan suggested ankle replacement. So, in 2013, Dr. Dahl did the replacement and when I was able to put weight on it, the pain was gone and now I got my life back! Except for the scars, no one would know I had an ankle replacement……..no cane and no brace!

I have had a bad ankle for about 25, 30 years. The best decision I’ve ever made in my life was to pick TCO to do my ankle replacement, and it has changed my life forever. If there are any people that are considering this sort of surgery, there is one thing that I will tell you: Go to TCO. Go to TCO. This procedure that I’ve had has really given me a comeback in life.
