I was having terrible hip pain when I first saw Dr. O’Neill. He diagnosed me with bone on bone osteoarthritis in my right hip and told me I needed a complete hip replacement surgery. I had the direct anterior surgery on May 14, 2012. I can’t believe how fast I recovered. I was back to square dancing five weeks after the surgery. I didn’t use my walker after two weeks, nor a cane after three weeks. There was no need for any physical therapy or exercises. Before surgery, I could no longer sit on the floor, square dance, go shopping for groceries, walk up or down the basement steps to do laundry. I am so thankful Dr. Foley from Fairview referred me to Dr. O’Neill. I didn’t know that this Direct Anterior Surgery was even available. I was soooo fortunate to have found Dr. O’Neill and his assistant Jessie. I have already referred at least two other people to them.
