Twin Cities Orthopedics physicians participate in AAOS Annual Meeting

Twin Cities Orthopedics has been recognized for producing cutting-edge scientific orthopedic research. TCO physicians are internationally renowned educational leaders who are passionate about research and continually transform health care.

Four TCO physicians, Drs. Chris Coetzee, Chris Larson, Owen O’Neill and David Olson, were selected to present on their subspecialty topics during this week’s American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting, which began Tuesday and runs through Saturday in San Diego.

TCO is one of the top orthopedic research institutions in Minnesota and the U.S.

On Tuesday, Dr. O’Neill took part in an instructional course lecture titled “It’s a Brave New World: Alternative Payment Models and Value Creation in Total Joint Replacement.”

This week, Dr. Coetzee is participating in two instructional course lectures, “Management of Complex Foot and Ankle Injuries in the Athlete” and “Arthritis of the Ankle Joint: Refining and Expanding Options in Management”; a technical skills presentation, “Management of the Cavus Foot: A Practical Guide with Video Techniques”; and an American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS)/American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) Specialty Day combined session on “Foot and Ankle Trauma in the Athlete – Getting Them Back in the Game” on Saturday.

Dr. Coetzee also presented on sports medicine topics on behalf of Dr. Olson, who, along with Dr. Larson, was unable to attend the annual meeting.

Dr. Larson’s presentations that took place are: two symposiums, “Hip Arthroscopy – Should I Incorporate It in My Practice (B)” and “My Well-Done Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction Failed… Now What? (X)”; one paper presentation, “Surgery for Femoroacetabular Impingement in Skeletally Immature Patients: Radiographic and Clinical Analysis”; and a technical skills presentation, “Advanced Surgical Techniques in Femoroacetabular Impingement: An In-Depth Approach.”
