Practice Overview

Dr. Aaron Bloom specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pain disorders of the spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis and extremities. He always takes a multi-modal treatment approach that is customized to address the specific painful syndrome involved. Such treatments may include: fluoroscopically-guided spine injections, ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks and joint injections (steroid or viscosupplementation), botox injections for dystonia, and nerve ablation (for spine, hip or shoulder pain), peripheral nerve stimulation and spinal cord stimulation. Dr. Bloom works closely with our surgeons, PT, OT and personal trainers to comprehensively optimize the likelihood of breaking his patients’ pain cycle.

Dr. Bloom takes a special interest in translational medical research and developing novel, non-opioid pain-relieving medications for the treatment of chronic pain disorders.

Patient Testimonials

Approximately 90-95% of knee replacements are successful in that they relieve knee pain. I was in the 5-10% that experienced pain that was worse than it had been pre-surgery. Every time I sat down or got up from a chair or toilet it hurt. Every step up or step down on a staircase hurt. For two years after surgery I was in pain. Then I was referred to Dr. Bloom. He performed a genicular nerve ablation on my knee. It was like a switch had been flipped. I got up and there was NO pain. It has now been a couple of years since the ablation and the nerves have grown back somewhat but the pain is nowhere near the level it was pre-ablation. I am both incredibly grateful to Dr. Bloom and dismayed that my original surgeon (not a TCO surgeon) did not refer me to someone who does this type of procedure, despite my repeated visits complaining of pain. Thank you!

Thank you to Dr. Bloom for listening to me and respecting me as a seasoned healthcare provider and patient. I have practiced anesthesia for nearly 40 years and am extremely impressed with all that he brings to the table as a pain management and anesthesia specialist. My diagnosis of CRPS with my comorbidities is challenging and he knew how to create the perfect “pain block” to get me literally back on my feet. His intervention, referral to PT and other care recommendations were the answer. He stands out as preeminent in so many ways! TCO has the best there is in the business in you!
