TCO welcomes new physician Dr. David E. Hartigan

Join us in welcoming our newest physician, David E. Hartigan, MD, to Twin Cities Orthopedics.

Dr. Hartigan, a Minnesota native, joins the practice from the Phoenix, AZ area and brings extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of hip care and sports medicine.

What is an interesting fact that people may not know about you?
I played college basketball and throughout my career I have had five knee reconstructive surgeries. These surgeries really allow me to be more empathetic and anticipate the various needs of the recovering athlete.  In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my wife and two children.

Why did you go into medicine?
I went into medicine to improve the quality and quantity of life in my community.

How did you choose orthopedics?
I chose orthopedics due to my own athletic endeavors, which led to multiple orthopedic surgeries.  These interactions demonstrated to me the profound impact that a caring orthopedist can make on a patient’s life.  I strive to take great care of every patient every day.

What does your dream practice look like?
My dream practice is filled with patients striving toward a goal, but a musculoskeletal injury makes achieving it tough. I have seen it from both the patient side and the provider side, and it is a very rewarding feeling knowing that you were a part of what helped that patient achieve their goal.

What is your care philosophy?
My care philosophy is to always put the care of the patient first.  I strive to give patients the time, energy and expertise needed in order to exceed all expectations.

Dr. Hartigan will practice at TCO’s Edina, Maple Grove and Robbinsdale locations.
