Two weeks ago I completed a multi-day, 300 mile bike ride in the (very hilly!) Finger Lakes region of New York. I experienced virtually no discomfort in my reconstructed calcaneus (six screws worth, as you may recall) and surrounding tissue. And I'm certain the little discomfort I did have was more attributable to the scleroderma that was present before the injury.
18 months ago when I was just starting to bear weight again, I was very unsure of how far my recovery could take me. I was hoping to at least get to the point where a five mile hike was doable. A 300 mile bike ride? I doubt that I would have considered that even a remote possibility. But here we are. So I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am for you and your expertise, and that you really did a FANTASTIC job!
