I can’t say enough about Dr. Edward Szalapski as a Doctor. My family doctor referred me to him when I needed my right hip replaced in 1998. He said he would not send me to anyone that he would not send his own family member to. Dr Szalapski fit that bill, he is a caring down to earth person. I remember telling him he had to do a good job because my grandkids wanted to play with their grandma. You know he cares about his patients when in November 1998 after having my right hip replaced, he came to see how I was doing late in the evening at the hospital.

Then in November 2009 I had my left knee replacement, left hip replacement October 2010, right hip socket replaced 2018 after 20 years. Then Dr. Szalapski did my carpel tunnel right hand in April, 2019 and the carpel tunnel left hand in May, 2019. I believe in his work so much I changed my health carrier as his office was not going to be in the network. This year I needed my right knee replaced and I am so glad I can still have Dr. Szalapski as my Orthopedic physician.

Dr. Chris Meyer and team did a great job from start to finish for hip surgery. Everyone from 1st appointment to follow up including the cleaning staff were very professional, kind, and motivated to give me the best care possible. Thank you all.

I’m not running marathons, but I can make it up stairs without pain now!!

Dr. Bakker was able to successfully remove my tumor hidden in my shoulder. I’ve had extreme pain on and off for two decades and we weren’t sure it could be successfully removed, but it was! From the beginning of the check-in process to the end of the discharge, everything was so smooth and nice. Lindsey was the nurse who inserted the hand IV and did the best job I’ve experienced. Usually my hand ends up being poked and prodded a few times and it turns out swollen and bruised, but Lindsey inserted the hand IV seamlessly with little to no discomfort. Thank you for all your hard work and for changing my life for the better forever!

I came to Dr. Szalapski with a lifetime of knee pain. I had my first scope at 13 years old and I’m 40 now. Because of my age I had been dismissed often for replacements. Dr. Szalapski took the time to actually listen to my issues and care about me, as a person, not just a statistic. Over the last three years, he has replaced both of my knees. I’ve never been so excited to play ball again, or ride bike with my kids. During my first appointment with Dr. Kelly, I asked him to fix me or amputate my arm. The pain was negatively impacting my quality of life and my mood. Since the surgery, I have returned to doing what I love to do and have minimal to no pain on most days. I am getting ready to start back up with my personal trainer and looking forward to once again being the ‘old lady who can’!

Dr. Kelly and his team are exceptionally talented caregivers. They are highly skilled, compassionate, fun, straight forward and east to talk with. Each one of them made me fell their favorite patient and each one was definitely there for me whenever I needed them. Five years ago, when I first started having pain in my hip and leg I went to Twin Cities Orthopedics. I had been there before for hand surgery so I knew I’d receive good care. My diagnosis was spinal stenosis. The approach taken for my symptoms was a very conservative one. I had spinal injections, physical therapy and sometimes medication to help relieve the pain and discomfort. There was never any pressure to have surgery. It wasn’t until the winter of 2019 when I fell backwards on the ice that I knew I had come to the point where I wanted to go ahead with surgery. I made an appointment with Dr. Deal and we discussed my options. In helping to make my spine as sturdy as possible Dr. Deal suggested a L2-L5 fusion as the best option. I really appreciated Dr. Deal’s way of explaining the surgery and all the follow-ups we had. Dr. Deal is an excellent surgeon. His physician’s assistant, Nathan Marcus was also a wonderful part of the surgery team. I just had my 1 year check-up and everything is still in place. I’m glad I opted to select Twin Cities Orthopedics and Dr. Deal.

I was in a lot of pain before surgery and had a lot of trouble with daily activities. Dr. Meyer did a great job on my hip and now I am pain free and able to do the things I want to do. Surgery only took just over an hour and Dr. Meyer and his team were great to work with. I highly recommend him and his staff.
