This was my first time having surgery. As someone with chronic pain and EDS, I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to dance again. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be listened to, or my chronic issues would not be taken seriously. Desmond and Hanna were a bright light throughout the ups and downs of my recovery. They responded to every setback with compassion, creativity, and patience. We had a lot of laughs, which is essential for healing (and my comedic ego). I am truly grateful for them both. Now, I am back on the dance floor, showing off my skills, and heading to Vegas to perform in front of approximately 700 people!

After years of managing my knee pain with injections and activity modifications, I finally decided to pursue a total knee replacement. Dr. Nishant Dwivedi was amazing! My adult son, Nate, fell and broke both wrists. Both were severely damaged. We met with Dr. Dwivedi for a consultation and scheduled surgery which was quite extensive. I was so impressed with Dr. Dwivedi’s bedside manner. He was polite and patient in answering all our questions. He did not rush and was very thorough in explaining the surgical process. I had a left knee replacement 11 years ago that built up a lot of scar tissue right away. I had to have a manual manipulation on it. It had a good bend even after the surgery and to this day, it is still painful. It was not a robotic surgery.

My right knee was robotic and done by Dr. Arntson. It had a pretty fluid bend before surgery. I am 6 weeks out and my pain has gone down a lot. The scar has healed quickly. I cannot tell you how much better the surgery with the Mako Robotics is over a regular surgery. The results are far superior! Thank you to Dr. Arntson.

I highly recommend Twin Cities Orthopedics for joint replacement surgery. Dr. Leafblad and his staff did an excellent job with my total reverse shoulder replacement in March 2025. The pain from bone spurs is now completely gone in my shoulder. With physical therapy, I am making good progress toward increasing mobility. I am looking forward to having my other shoulder replaced within the next year.

Kelly Vanderheyden provided excellent care. My prior cortisone experiences were not pleasant. She was informative, personal, kind, and very gentle. The entire procedure was well executed. Kelly made my day. Thank you!

My thanks to Dr. Butterfield and his surgical team for the left total shoulder replacement. Dr. Butterfield’s expertise and precise technique has given me an excellent outcome from this surgery in April of 2025. Dr. Butterfield and his team did a total right shoulder replacement in August of 2021 as well. I went to TCO with a lot of pain in both instances and each outcome resulted in zero pain. TCO’s physical therapy staff showed me how to regain full use of both shoulders. Dr. Wetter also replaced both of my hips back in 2016 and 2018, also with no pain afterwards. The four surgeries I have had have been life changing. Thank you!
