I am completely impressed by every facet of Twin Cities Orthopedics and am happy to share my experience. Getting a full knee replacement is a tough decision and they answered every question I posed. The surgery was a success, led by Dr. Bircher, who is supported by an incredible staff. The immediate post-treatment care could not have gone better. I felt like I was in a 5-star hotel, but more than that, it was the people working there who are so wonderful and genuine.

The physical therapy was harder than I expected but I received incredible coaching on what to do, with just the right amount of prodding. Thank you for fixing this problem which I have been dealing with for a very long time. I feel great and it is thanks to Dr. Bircher and the TCO staff!

Thank you to Dr. Bloom for listening to me and respecting me as a seasoned healthcare provider and patient. I have practiced anesthesia for nearly 40 years and am extremely impressed with all that he brings to the table as a pain management and anesthesia specialist. My diagnosis of CRPS with my comorbidities is challenging and he knew how to create the perfect “pain block” to get me literally back on my feet. Dr. Hofkens is very kind and willing to take the time to explain what is happening, along with your options. He gave me the answers I needed for a treatment plan and follow-up. I wouldn’t hesitate to refer someone to Dr. Hofkens.

I came in with extreme right shoulder pain and discovered I had arthritis with bone spurs. Dr. Arntson advised me of options but said surgery was in my future. I tried cortisone shots, but they were only a short-term pain reliever. Finally I scheduled surgery, and it was the best move I ever made. The surgery went well, and I have been pain-free ever since. I have fully recovered and am back to doing everything I did before surgery. I highly recommend surgery with Dr. Arntson and wish I wouldn’t have waited so long to have it done.

Dr. Gregory Scallon and staff went beyond the call of duty for my son and family. My family has an autistic son who needs to get his foot corrected due to the fact that he is ASD. My wife and I went to multiple orthopedic surgeons and none of them could meet our son’s need. Finally, our last stop was Twin Cities Orthopedics and we were able to find Dr. Gregory Scallon he performed the best surgery for our son and helped with the correction of his feet.

I am a retired USMC Veteran of Desert Storm. Dr. Scallon and the staff went beyond the call of duty. They are very professional and helpful. I give them 10 stars!

I am 64 years old and I had a trimalleolar fracture of my left ankle 3 years ago. After a long recovery, I thought the worst was behind me. About 18 months after the accident, I developed post traumatic osteoarthritis of my left ankle. I tried medication, steroid injections and ended up using a cam boot for almost 6 months since I was unable to put weight on my foot due to the pain. I was referred to Dr. Mittelsteadt to see if I was a candidate for ankle replacement. I had the surgery in March 2023. I am now 7 months post-surgery, have completed physical therapy, am walking up to 4 miles every day (which is something I have not been able to come close to for 3 years). Dr. Mittelsteadt is professional, accessible, and kind. The staff at TCO are great! They are very friendly and accommodating. I am very grateful that I was able to have this replacement done and get my mobility back!

I can’t thank Heather Schroeder enough! Heather pushed me to successfully recover from knee joint surgery. Her professional, caring, positive attitude was exactly what I needed. TCO has the finest staff!

I have nothing but good to say about Dr. Bircher and his entire care team! I was more than adequately educated about and prepared for my surgery beforehand. The entire process from beginning to end went smoothly. Considering what I expected, my pain was controlled and tolerable. I never would have thought in a thousand years that I would be driving again in two and a half weeks and getting around without my walker or cane in four weeks. Sixteen weeks out I feel great! I did not find the pre-surgery and post-surgery exercises at home burdensome in any way and doing them diligently really made my PT sessions productive.

So my left knee feels great after surgery and my right knee feels really good too. I’ll be doing what I can to try to keep it that way but, should my right knee deteriorate in the future I know who to contact to help me and I have no concerns about going through the process again if I have to.

I cannot express my gratitude for TCO and Dr. Nemanich. I am 44 years old and extremely active. My life was put on hold due to the pain of hip osteoarthritis. I was told I needed a hip replacement. I wondered how could this be? I’m too young. So I dealt with the pain for a while until I could hardly walk and limped everywhere. I finally decided to do surgery. Dr. Nemanich was amazing. He explained everything and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed. I scheduled the surgery I was nervous because I had never had a broken bone in my life.

The surgery team met with me and explained everything. When I woke up I was still scared I didn’t know what to expect. I was a little sore and groggy but that arthritic pain in my hip was completely gone! It was crazy! Dr. Nemanich met with me after and explained things to me. Once again, I never felt like he was in a hurry. He answered all my questions. I was scared walking for the first time and the first week was a little rough, but by the second week – wow! I cannot believe the mobility and pain free hip I have! I want all new joints now! I will definitely be coming back to TCO and referring my family and friends. The entire team is amazing, from the people that handle insurance and work paperwork, to the surgeons, and nurses. I am able to live my life without pain again. Thank you TCO!
