I am extremely grateful to Dr. Jeffrey Mair for my total knee replacement February of 2024. I can honestly say that my whole life has changed for the better! I was in constant pain and avoided standing or walking as much as I could because of how painful and difficult it was for me. After 8 months, I was able to take a European River Cruise, which included 14,000 to 17,000 steps daily on cobblestone!! I had no pain whatsoever. I am grateful every time I get up without having to think about pain, and I am grateful every time I get into my car and can just bring my legs in without pain and tears. Thank you!!

Dr. Andrew Schmiesing was my orthopedic surgeon for my total knee replacement. As it turned out, I was anything but a typical patient. I had trouble managing my pain because I struggle with opioids. Dr. Schmiesing called me every day until we could find the right combination of drugs. He went above and beyond the call of duty. He offered great advice and had a great bedside manner to ease my anxiety. His care team of Skyler and Sydney were also great. I always had such a quick response. I even attended an event 2.5 weeks after surgery and walked easily without a need for any apparatus. I’m convinced the anterior approach is the way to go to get back to life quickly.

I’ve had two follow-up appointments and X-rays and as of November 5th, I am cleared without restrictions (except long-distance running). I will have a standard follow-up appointment in one year. Dr. Garry Banks did a wonderful job fixing my damaged spine. He visited me in the hospital every day that I was there. I felt that he cared about me. Thank you to him and the wonderful nurses who cared for me!

Thanks to Dr. Erik Peterson and his team, I am back to playing soccer and kickball with my grandchildren, maintaining our large and hilly yard full of plants and flowers, actively traveling both domestically and internationally, and walking and biking daily. I decided why wait? I am glad I got it done and have my active life back. The grandkids grow fast, and I want to keep up with them. I received great care from start to finish!

Dr. Eric Deal performed a microdiscectomy on me to repair a herniated disc in the L5 – S1 region. The result was an almost immediate relief from the pain I had been suffering from for months! During my initial consultation with Dr. Deal, he presented my diagnosis and treatment options in a straightforward, easy-to-understand manner. I felt comfortable choosing microdiscectomy as the best option for me. Emily, Dr. Deal’s care coordinator, explained the scheduling process and pre-surgery requirements and provided all necessary information and documents. She took time to answer all of my questions and made sure that I was comfortable with everything. The outpatient surgery took place at TCO Eagan. The entire process at that location was very thorough. They were great! I hope to any additional surgeries, but if needed, I am 100% confident in Dr. Deal and his team. I highly recommend them!

In 2018, I was told I needed a hip replacement by another orthopedic practice and I said, I’m not getting one, how long do I have? I was told 3 years. In the Spring of 2024, I had enough ibuprofen and decided to schedule an appointment.  I was also motivated by an upcoming project completion in July. I knew I was going with TCO as I was aware of their reputation. Researching hip doctors, I found Dr. Bircher  and I’m so glad I did, and when I met with him he was professional and to the point. He stated I was good candidate for a successful hip surgery. I enjoyed his friendly confidence. He explained things and as a result, I went in July with no worries. I followed the recommended home therapy and was able to return to work with some caution and restrictions in about 60 days. Follow up appointments were great. Dr Bircher and his staff always gave me all of the time I needed to describe where I was at. I should also add that on the day of the surgery the staff was remarkable. One by one they each came in to meet me to explain their role and to wish me luck; A+ on it all. Do this thing. The pain I had endured was gone immediately after surgery. I used a walker for a two weeks to ensure no falls, then went to a cane and could do pretty much what I wanted to do. By the way great job on the closure too. My scar is as thin as a kite string.
