I was surprised that I was released from the hospital only 36 hours after having my left hip replaced by Dr. Arntson. There was no significant pain or discomfort after the spinal blog wore off. I attempt to do 90 minutes of water aerobics 5 days a week. There have been no negative outcomes or consequences. I have noticed an increase in mobility mirroring someone with no artificial hips.

Dr. Arntson performed a left hip replacement for me after I fell and broke my hip on ice. I was able to begin waling the next day with a walker. Within 2 weeks, I was walking on my own without a walker. Now, six weeks later, I am functioning normally with only a slight limp. Getting stronger each day. I am grateful to Dr. Arntson for putting me back together so well! Thanks!

I have very little pain now, and am looking forward to spring/summer activities soon! My dog is happy now that we can go for walks again!

Dear Dr. Crowe,

In August of 2012, I began working on my bachelor of arts degree in fashion designs. During this time, I had fallen on some ice. Not knowing how injured I was, I jumped up and went back to class. The pain in my leg began, but I was determined to get my degree; graduated in 2016. Before meeting Dr. Crowe, I had suffered with the most intense pain in my right leg for seven years. Due to this pain, it has prevented me from utilizing my degree; not being able to participate in Fashion week. Being a fashion designer is something I have dreamed of becoming since I was a little girl and now that I have had my surgery, I can finally live my childhood dream.

Dr. Owen O’Neill is one of the best! I highly recommend him and his staff. The whole experience was as good as it gets for having a major surgery. Although uncommon in the medical industry these days, Dr. O’Neill has excellent bedside manner and does a great job actually listening to the patient. He takes the time to educate you on the procedure and the materials that will be used, and to address concerns you may have. He is an excellent surgeon and he did an amazing job on my anterior hip replacement.

I had lived with bone on bone pain for nearly 3 years before having surgery. I did lots of physical therapy and was able to greatly reduce the pain I was experiencing. However I was still greatly restricted in my activities, movement, and flexibility. I could barely reach my shoes to tie them. I thought my pain level was tolerable, but after having the surgery and having no pain for months now, I realize the pain was really dragging down many aspects of my life, my energy level, and my general demeanor. It’s been 8 months now and I’m feeling 10 years younger. I’m able to walk normally, jog and run, do all my gardening, and am very active again. The surgery really did change my life.

Thanks again to Dr. O’Neill and to his entire team. They are amazing!

I was visiting my rheumatologist and after looking at my feet, she recommended I see Dr. Scott McGarvey, Twin Cities Orthopedics Edina, to take a look. Before this day I’d had 3 foot surgeries for bunions and hammertoes. On a scale of 1-10, I was at a 9 with pain not being able to walk long distances. I couldn’t walk through any store without being in excruciating pain. I haven’t wore sandals and barely fit in extra wide shoes for years because my feet were so wide and the hammer toes were so protruding. For 20 years even after seeing other Doctors, my pain got progressively worse.

Before surgery with Dr. McGarvey, the pain was so intense all the way up my leg I couldn’t touch my leg without it hurting. After surgery, it was a 3 month recovery for each foot. I could see my foot getting back to normal as the weeks went by. I had no pain almost immediately after surgery. Today I am in NO pain at all, anywhere!! I wish I would’ve met you 20 years ago, Dr. McGarvey!!

Anyway, I would like to recommend Dr. Scott McGarvey to anyone that needs a foot or ankle surgery. He is a Doctor with the best bedside manners you could ask for. He is intelligent and knowledgeable and has been working in his field for many years. I can’t write this and not include Rhodora, Dr. McGarvey’s assistant. Rhodora is the best, she is on top of her game, assisting in many facets of the medical office. Rhodora is also the best with her patients, treating them with empathy and respect. I almost wish I had more feet (lol) to see them for. I will miss going in to visit and the high quality of work they both put out. Dr. McGarvey, Rhodora I can’t thank you enough!!!

I came to Dr. Lervick with pain in my left shoulder. Having had pain there before due to a C5/C6 ruptured disc in 2004, we were not sure about the source of pain. He ordered MRI’s for both my neck and shoulder to determine the source. A full thickness rotator cuff tear was discovered but also stenosis in two levels of the cervical spine. After consulting with the spine surgeon who had performed the fusion on the ruptured level, the decision was to first repair the shoulder, which turned out to be the true source of pain. Everything from preparatory pre-surgery therapy to the surgery itself and all post-surgical care including adequate pain control during those first three weeks are just a few positives to mention. His assistants, Andy and Ann are the best too! Dr. Lervick’s bedside manner, all options explained, genuine interest and care as to how I was doing left enough impression upon me to make sure I get at least Dr. Lervick’s contact number into the hands of anyone who tells me they are experiencing shoulder pain or immobility. I am a shuttle van driver for a car dealership so I meet many people over the course of a year. I’ve become a walking advertisement not only for Dr. Lervick, but also Dr. Jeffrey Dick at TCO, the spine surgeon referred to above who has performed three nerve decompressions and two fusions on my spine. Kudos to both men and their entire staffs!

Dr. Butterfield was recommended to me by my primary care physician. He was kind, professional, thorough and made sure my questions were answered. Would recommend Dr. Butterfield to anyone needing an orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Koch did my surgery, she is wonderful! A very professional woman with a warm and comforting demeanor. Explains everything and is a good listener. I have already started to refer my family to her.

I fractured my wrist two days before Christmas. I am extremely grateful that Dr. Gesensway and the TCO staff were so thoughtful, proactive, and organized that I was able to have surgery during the short holiday week rather than waiting 10 days. Dr. Gesensway is very personable and an excellent surgeon. My healing process was so much faster than my previous wrist fracture. (Yes, I must be a klutz or maybe just have bad luck when it comes to snow and ice.) He is also a good teacher; I valued having an understanding of my injury and the treatment involved. I especially appreciated how he would repeat certain instructions during post-op appointments. There was no second guessing myself when I wondered what I can or should not do.

I just wanted to thank you Dr. Neil Johnson. I was in a few weeks back for the first time with severe pain in my inner thigh…we really didn’t figure out why exactly, but chose to do an injection in my knee. Wanted to let you know, whether is was the injection or not, everything is amazing now. It was very slow – each day I would tell people, well it feels about 6.5% better…but now it is 100% and no pain at all. I chose not to do the physical therapy for financial reasons, but also because it feels great. Thank you and your staff – everyone was amazing and the entire place was very pleasant and everyone has great customer service!!!
