I have been treated for two separate shoulder rotator cuff tears (left and right) by Dr. Frank Norberg. I chose him because his surgical practice is focused on the shoulders and elbows. Eight years ago, I was examined, and it was determined I had a full-thickness tear of my left rotator cuff. Dr. Norberg recommended trying physical therapy and waiting on surgery. I did and am happy to say I achieved full function. No pain and no surgery. Fast forward to two years ago and I was having pain in my right shoulder. This time the tear was more extensive, and Dr. Norberg advised that repair surgery would be needed or eventually I would need a shoulder replacement. Now one-year post-op, I am very pleased to say my shoulder is 100% pain-free with full function. I can play competitive tennis, which I love. I give my fullest recommendation to see Dr. Norberg if you have shoulder problems. He is conservative from a surgical standpoint and will only recommend surgery if needed.

Prior to my recent injury, I saw Dr. Frank Norberg for knee surgery, which went extremely well. Eight years later, I went back to see him for a shoulder tear. I would only trust Dr. Norberg. My shoulder had an extreme tear, and he used a new technique that worked incredibly well which expedited my healing time. He’s extremely talented, explains the issues and procedures clearly, and is very encouraging. If you have any questions, go to TCO and see Dr. Norberg. He will put you at ease and get you back to doing life again.

Dr. Norberg has performed both my shoulder replacement surgeries, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. My shoulders feel like they’re young again. I chose Dr. Norberg because he had performed several shoulder repair surgeries for family members as well. He is trusted and greatly appreciated by us. The entire process was professional and personal. Thank you, Dr Norberg!

Dr. Norberg provided me with outstanding care and counsel for a badly fractured elbow. Although surgery was an option, it probably wasn’t the best option for me. I appreciated his careful consideration of a non-surgical path – and that’s the route we took, with good results. He supported me through physical therapy and rehab, not losing interest because it wasn’t a surgery. He also made it clear that I should return if new problems develop. I truly appreciate his warm communication style and highly recommend the patient experience with Dr. Norberg!

I had a total shoulder replacement in October 2023. Dr. Norberg had previously seen me for a large lipoma that was under my left deltoid muscle, and he did a super job. This time I had my left shoulder replaced and this gave me full use of my left arm with an excellent outcome. I just had my six month checkup and I can say that his expertise and thorough care has given me pain free use of my arm again. I must say that, besides being an excellent surgeon, Dr. Norberg is probably the easiest guy to speak to about any orthopedic issues one may have. I have and will recommend him to anyone that is considering orthopedic surgery.

I am happy to share the profound impact Dr. Norberg has had on my life since August 2023, when he performed shoulder replacement surgery on my right shoulder. As I attend my 7-month post-op appointment today, I am filled with gratitude and awe at my progress. Dr. Norberg’s expertise as an orthopedic surgeon is unparalleled, I believe he is one of the finest in the country. However, what has truly set him apart is his genuine warmth, empathy, and unwavering dedication to my well-being. Beyond his exceptional surgical skill, Dr. Norberg has consistently demonstrated a sincere interest in my recovery, making me feel valued and understood every step of the way. His ability to communicate complex medical information clearly and compassionately has been very helpful in allowing me to take charge of my health. I wholeheartedly endorse Dr. Norberg to anyone seeking expert orthopedic care. If you have uncertainty and pain, I would encourage you to schedule an appointment with Dr. Norberg.

Dr. Norberg performed a shoulder replacement surgery in June 2023. I had been having daily pain and discomfort with most activity, due in part to a bad injury in my late 20’s that damaged my deltoid muscle and the nerves serving that muscle. I also had substantial arthritic changes to the joint. I really appreciate that Dr. Norberg was willing to take on this challenging shoulder surgery.

He and his staff were very supportive and encouraging to me during my recovery and progress in PT post-surgery. I currently have very little discomfort in the shoulder, and my movements and activities that I had to limit previous to my surgery are now much easier and unrestricted. I feel like I have my life back. Dr. Norberg’s skill and expertise were excellent. I would recommend him to anyone with shoulder injuries who require this type of surgery.

My total reverse shoulder repair was amazing. It was an easy surgery and recovery. I am very pleased with Dr. Norberg and his staff.

I broke my arm at the shoulder on Feb 1, and to my great luck, Dr. Norberg was my attending physician. As he said, I was either lucky and broke my arm or I’d torn a rotator cuff. Dr. Norberg was incredibly helpful, walking me through the finer nuances of what exercises would hurt and what would help. I had excellent mobility up until that point and he was very clear that I would recover fastest if I was patient and steadfast in my physical therapy.

Fast forward to nine months later and I am in the gym and working through the finer points of shoulder engagement in hot yoga. Dr. Norberg was great. He was helpful, encouraging and full of humor. He guided me through the process with an expertise that was really comforting. Can’t wait to get him into those hot yoga classes now too.

One year ago Dr. Frank Norberg reconstructed my right shoulder due to a massive rotator cuff tear. He modified my superior capsular reconstruct with autologous biceps tendon. He said my only other option was a complete shoulder replacement. After one day of post-surgery pain I began to heal.

Dr. Norberg, his assistant Kayla Brown, PA-C and the rest of the TCO staff assisted me every step of the way. Once I started physical therapy, I continued to heal and gain strength. I attribute the quick healing process in my shoulder to Dr. Norberg’s superior work. I was able to return to work full time as a Police Officer without restrictions in just 4 months.

My right shoulder is nearly 100% and often feels and operates stronger than my left one. I cannot thank Dr. Norberg enough for his highly skilled expertise, knowledge of his occupation, and overall care in the surgery he provided me with. His professionalism is second to none and highly recommend he and his staff for any operation in his field the reader maybe considering.

I am 69 years old. Over the past 30+ years I have played tennis 4-7 times per week, singles and doubles. I call it a passion and some have called it an addiction. But I love tennis and planned on playing well into my 80’s until a “small” tear become an irreparable tear because I insisted on competing in a tournament. After the first set, I returned a blistering serve to my forehand. It felt like my bicep fell down to my elbow. I dropped my racquet and cried all the way home. The MRI indicated I had torn 3 of the 4 muscles of the rotator cuff. It was classified “irreparable.”

One physician recommended a reverse shoulder replacement. Would I have full mobility? 100% no. Dr. Frank Norberg said he could perform a superior capsular reconstruction. In other words, 7 weeks of post-op recovery, followed up with 6 months of physical therapy. Dr. Norberg’s PA told me I needed to get 100% mobility in 4 months or it wouldn’t happen. Dr. Norberg told me it would be 18 months before I could return to the court.

It’s been over 14 months, and I am playing tennis with full mobility, thanks to Dr. Norberg. This was probably the most pain I have ever experienced but I would do it again for this result. Thank you, Dr. Norberg. Everyone who knows me and what kind of injury this was says I am a walking miracle. Thanks to God and Dr. Norberg, I would concur. I am a miracle! I am playing tennis, pickleball, and golf, with NO PAIN!

Dr. Norberg gave me my life back. I am a devoted swimmer and due to a badly injected flu vaccine in November 2022, I developed a severe case of SIRVA (shoulder injury related to vaccine administration). I visited many physicians at other practices and Dr. Norberg was the only physician who told me that cases of SIRVA can be serious. He also recommended to add another procedure to my shoulder surgery, something that was ignored by the other doctors.

Finally, after a cavalry of 16 months of pain and being unable to swim, I had a complicated shoulder surgery that that involved four different procedures. Dr. Norberg is an excellent surgeon and an honest, and warm human being. He will never give you a rosy picture of the recovery process. So today, after one year, I am back at the pool swimming for 30 minutes, 3 times per week. I am working towards my final goal with confidence and without pain.

I highly recommend Dr. Norberg for anything shoulder and rotator cuff related. In 2022 my left shoulder was unstable and would dislocate on a semi-consistent basis. I consulted Dr. Norberg and he was upfront with me about the fact that, while not absolutely mandatory, surgery on my shoulder would help its stability immensely. He helped me schedule a date for my surgery. He did excellent work on my shoulder and provided dates to check up on it, along with locations for physical therapy. I am 7 months out from my surgery and am back doing everything I was doing before and more. Not to mention, my recovery was speedy before this point. Dr. Norberg is knowledgeable, kind, precise, and experienced in his work and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Norberg did an outstanding job in reverse replacements and matching both shoulders. He accomplished a miracle with the right shoulder, which had been seriously damaged in a fall. After the double replacement, I fell and shattered my right collarbone which he also perfectly repaired.

I’m an avid golfer, and played for over a year in pain. Dr. Norberg suggested reverse shoulder surgery, which was new to me and a concern for my future golf participation. Dr. Norberg and his staff had several communications with me answering all questions and were quite assuring of the procedure. I was told my recovery would be 4-6 months. The surgery went great and my pain of recovery was minimal. With Dr. Norberg’s rehab guidelines and physical therapy, my strength and flexibility increased incredibly well. Everything from start to finish was outstanding. I started hitting chip shots after 3 months and played a round of golf 4 and a half months later pain free. The procedure went so well, I rarely think of my operation. I’d have no reservations to see Dr. Norberg for my other shoulder in the future. Thank you.

After abusing my shoulders for 28 years of farming, 42 years of employment as a nurse, and spending months in a wheelchair following complications of right hip replacement, I was in constant pain in both shoulders. The pain affected every aspect of daily living, from sleeping and dressing to preparing meals, and being able to safely drive my CRV.

The process began with an appointment for a CT of my right shoulder and meeting Dr. Norberg. The wait for the creation of glenoid prosthesis began. With both shoulders replaced and PT completed, I am back to doing everything I need to do in my daily living. I feel the best I have for over five years! Dr. Norberg answered all of my questions with an explanation I understood. Dr. Norberg has a surgical talent and a talent in communicating with his patients, which makes for a smooth recovery. Dr. Norberg said I was a rock star during the process and when recovery was complete. I feel Dr. Norberg is the true rock star!

My right shoulder was so painful I could not even reach the car radio without supporting my right arm. I tried the old “just rub some dirt on it” routine, but it just kept getting worse. I finally made an appointment with Dr. Norberg and he said it would not get better without surgery. He suggested a reverse shoulder replacement and we proceeded with the surgery. The first couple days are no fun, but honestly, it was worth it. I can not only adjust the radio and heater, but do other stuff as well. I’m so happy I had Dr. Norberg do the surgery!

I can always count on my physical therapist to recommend top-notch healthcare providers. His recommendation of Dr. Frank Norberg was no exception. From Dr. Norberg’s initial diagnosis to his surgical skills and thorough post-op check-up, I was 100% satisfied with the care I received. Thank you, Dr. Norberg — I am grateful for your expertise.

I had an arthritic shoulder that was so painful. I was greatly limited in my basic daily tasks and it greatly disrupted my sleep. Dr. Norberg performed a reverse shoulder replacement and I am pain free. I am able to sleep and now get back to golf. He is a wonderful doctor and has an outstanding bedside manner.

After slipping and falling on my icy driveway, an MRI revealed three tears to my rotator cuff, and I needed surgery. The recovery is a marathon, but I’m grateful to have had a gifted surgeon like Dr. Frank Norberg. I’ve had a fabulous recovery so far, and I just feel really fortunate.    Watch Frank’s Recovery Story

I completely messed up my shoulder and with the help and expertise of Dr. Norberg and his staff, including TCO Physical Therapist Mike Dixey, I am well into full recovery. Dr. Norberg and his team took me on this journey professionally, with care, supporting and guiding me towards full recovery. They were always there with a smile to answer questions and reassure me that we were on the right track. I appreciate their friendly, family-oriented, yet professional approach to my surgery & recovery. Thank you Dr. Frank Norberg & team for getting me back to enjoying life again. I would happily refer anyone to this wonderful team!

I had both my shoulders replaced with Dr. Norberg. He and his team are amazing. From the first visit to the last, they treated me with the utmost professionalism, care and concern. Appointments were prompt, communication was timely, and access to he and his team was readily available. Dr. Norberg was very patient and thorough in his explanation of my shoulder issue and the surgery necessary to repair it. He took the time to address any questions, since I had and to make sure I was comfortable with the surgery and the recovery process. He did not sugarcoat the recovery process, but instead was very realistic. He was encouraging during the follow-up visits. His assessment of when I’d have mobility and be pain free was spot on. My experience was a 10/10 and I would highly recommend him.

I saw Dr. Norberg for my torn rotor cuff and was very happy that I chose him. He did a great job. It’s only been 8 months post-surgery, but I could never tell that I had surgery. His staff was very friendly and helpful. If I had any questions, I could call them anytime. I’m so pleased with them and my experience.

This August I had my eight month follow-up with Dr Norberg. I received X-rays and an exam with Dr. Norberg. All of the findings were positive and he provided tremendous encouragement. My physician, PA and PT care were all exceptional and flawless. I have regained all but 20 degrees of full motion in my shoulder except for the limited motion behind my back which was expected. I have regained the strength and stability that was predicted as well as endurance (demonstrated by holding up my flute). There is no pain in the shoulder. I have referred two friends for Dr. Norberg’s care and both had very satisfactory results. I only the most favorable experiences with Dr. Norberg.

I want to share my experience with Dr. Norberg, the surgical team and of course the TCO admin team for my repaired clavicle! First off, 10 out of 5 stars would highly recommend my experience. If you are hurt, stop reading, go straight there. I was involved in a “little” bicycle crash with a significant fracture to my clavicle…. multiple breaks with a bone fragment lodged into my trapezoid muscle. As you could imagine there was significant pain. I reached out to TCO as a second opinion as I was originally told to just “let it heal”. For context, I live two hours away from Edina, so distance and pain level were significant factors at play for me! The team got me taken care of right away. That night I booked the first available appointment out of desperation but figured my next day would be spent shuffling between multiple people and lots of time at scheduling desks. To my surprise (and much relief) when I walked in that next day, the TCO team had worked behind the scenes to get me to the proper specialist. Dr. Norberg walked me though the options and ultimately recommended surgery. What a huge relief to have a path forward! Based on the severity of the injury and of course pain level, TCO teams re-arranged their schedules and wiggled me into the first available surgery the Friday  before Independence Day weekend! I cannot imagine what that pain level would have been over a long summer holiday! The surgery turned out great, some additional metal and screws inside me but at 9 weeks, I am fully healed, feeling strong, and ahead of all projections. I am a fitness junkie and cannot express my appreciation for Dr. Norberg, Kayla Mork PA-C, Valerie, the surgical team members and of course the great administration staff at TCO for getting me back to pre-accident form!

Had my follow-up with Dr. Norberg seven months after surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff and I’m delighted at the progress I’ve made in such a short time. My range of motion is back, and pain is pretty much gone. Still recovering but feeling great. Dr. Norberg and the surgery and physical therapy team at TCO were amazing and I’m deeply grateful for their expert care. For anyone living with shoulder pain, I highly recommend starting here!

In October of 2021, Dr. Norberg performed surgery on my right shoulder to remove calcium and arthritic build up in the shoulder joint. Dr. Norberg did a fantastic job on the surgery. I especially like how honest he was about expectations for recovery and the outcome. What he had laid out for me is what happened. 7 months later I have full range of motion and strength that exceeds what I had prior to surgery. I am golfing, making deck modifications on my home, doing paver patio installation and many other activities. I don’t even think about my shoulder or the pain I once had. The physical therapy directed by Dr. Norberg was the key to my recovery. Thank you for your great work!

I have broken my collar bone 3 times and needed surgery on 2 occasions. I have seen Dr. Norberg for all of my care and treatment. He has been excellent to work with. I couldn’t be happier with my results and my experience with him. He provides the best care, all around! Please go to him if you have any shoulder/collarbone issues!

In May is 2021 I was visiting my daughter in upper NY state. On what was supposed to be the last day of my visit, I tripped on uneven sidewalk in Kingston, NY. I was taken by ambulance to the Kingston Hospital for observation and X-rays. Two days later I flew back to Minneapolis in great pain! I fractured my right humerus. Dr. Norberg saw me early the next morning. We began the long and careful process of healing without surgery. Dr Norberg, his staff and the physical therapists at TCO, have given me the best of professional care, for which I am eternally grateful!

I could not be more pleased with the level of care I received at Twin Cities Orthopedics and from Dr. Norberg. I went from painful, sleepless nights and days when my left arm/shoulder felt almost useless, to a totally restored shoulder and pain free existence. Dr. Norberg explained, in layman’s terms, what the problem was and the options for how to rectify that problem. Following surgery, recovery time and physical therapy, I began to regain strength in my shoulder. This did not come without a regimen of exercises, which Dr. Norberg explained were critical to the recovery process. By following his advice, I am a the point where I am glad to recommend TCO and Dr. Norberg without hesitation.

Dr. Norberg and team were great to work with! Dr. Norberg was patient, thorough and gave realistic expectations. I hope I don’t need his skills again, but if I do I know where I’ll go!

I fell off of my bicycle and fractured my clavicle. I was seen in TCO Orthopedic Urgent Care and then had an appointment with Dr. Norberg the next day. He determined that surgery was not needed but followed me carefully throughout my 2 month recovery. He remained directly involved, along with his PA, even though it was evident I would not need surgery. He was direct, but kind and thorough. He always solicited and answered questions.

7 years ago I fell and made a serious mess of my left rotator cuff. Dr. Norberg did an exceptional job of putting it back together. Also, 20 years ago I damaged my right shoulder and rotator cuff but somehow I got by, even though there was pain. Finally, I asked Dr. Norberg if he would repair my right shoulder’s rotator cuff  at the age of 80 years old. He did and now I have two good shoulders. I will always be grateful. Dr. Norberg is an exceptional surgeon. Before both surgeries he explained each procedure and what I would need to do during the recovery. Fortunately, Twin Cities Orthopedics has an excellent physical therapy program as well.

Dr. Norberg was fantastic! We had been to 5 different doctors for help, none of whom were able to offer a definitive diagnosis or successful strategies for dealing with the pain. Dr. Norberg was not only able to rapidly diagnose the problem, but answer our questions in a language we understood and offer treatment plans. I thought an orthopedic surgeon was just for surgeries but I no longer think that. Dr. Norberg’s years of experience in diagnosis and treatment enabled him to inform us what is going on and why! He was very personable and took the time to listen to us. He is awesome!

Last year while playing golf, I had a sharp pain in my right arm. I was advised that I had a strain of my triceps above my right elbow and that I should let it heal over the winter. As an avid golfer, I was extremely frustrated this spring when the pain came back on my first round of golf. Thinking that my golf season was over, I wanted to find an orthopedist that would be able to get me back on the course. I was given Dr. Norberg‘s name from a good friend, who said he is the go-to doc for golfers. During my first appointment, Dr. Norberg let me know I had a bone spur that was causing the pain and I needed surgery. Two weeks after surgery I was hitting balls and, within the first month, I was able to play 18 holes. Thanks Dr. Norberg for saving my golf season.

After several years of getting Cortisone shots in my right shoulder, I decided to find an Orthopedist recognized for the success on repairing shoulders. In my web’s research, standing out was Dr. Frank Norberg. I got immediate access for the first appointment with plenty flexibility for the ones to follow. Meeting him and his entire team was an excellent experience. The communication at all levels was extraordinary; from the telephone attendants, receptionists, nurses, PT personal and Operating Room’s personal, I found excellent care to solve my problem. From the first appointment to the very last one Dr. Norberg exceeded all my expectations, my rotating cuff was fully repaired as he described, with almost no discomfort. His patience and communication abilities are OUTSTANDING. I am 70 years old fully recovered and thankful to him and the team he has chosen.

I am 71 years old and over the years have sustained 3 rotator cuff tears following 3 separate injuries. Following each one, I underwent a rotator cuff repair by Dr. Norberg who was recommended to me by another orthopedic surgeon. Each time Dr. Norberg thoroughly explained the pathology in my shoulder, treatment alternatives and the reasons for his surgical recommendation. Most importantly, I have had excellent results. 8 months out from my last surgery, I am playing golf, shooting a shotgun and cleaning up leaves from my many oak trees. If my sons or granddaughters have shoulder problems, I will send them to Dr. Norberg.

At 55 I’ve had several orthopedic care issues over the years. This particular injury was the most debilitating that I have encountered in my life.
Dr. Norberg immediately got on it! I was in surgery five days after the injury. Four months later I feel 99% healed. Keep in mind that this type of surgery requires 6 to 9 months to heal. I feel it’s Dr. Norberg’s gift as a surgeon that got me back to my normal life in half the time. Greatest experience I’ve had in one of the worst times (COVID).

After two years of continued pain in my left shoulder, my family doctor set me up with an appointment with Dr. Norberg. He found I needed a reverse shoulder replacement. His thoroughness in all aspects was noticeable from the start. When I asked him how long the operation would take, his comment was “As long as it takes to be perfect”. That’s when I knew I was having the right person do the surgery. He takes the time to answer all your questions and is very good at explaining in layman’s terms what’s going on. If the time comes when I need my right shoulder replaced, I’ll have him do that one too.

I suffered a serious bike accident in July. Broken clavicle, Dr. Anseth referred me to Dr. Norberg. So thankful! He provided exemplary care of my broken bone, making me have hope that I would ride and ski again. Took necessary time to determine my path for a positive outcome. Location of fracture, my age, etc. have been factors resulting in a non-union of the bone, with significant fibrous tissue connecting the bone. Full range of motion, no pain, no limit to my activities…and no desire for surgery. Dr. Norberg and I have decided, unless my situation changes, no surgery is required. Again, so thankful for his wise consultation and care.

I had a severe tear in my 76 year old shoulder. Dr. Frank Norberg did an outstanding job of repairing the tear. I have great range of motion and I am free of pain. The shoulder now functions as it did before the injury. In addition to an excellent outcome, Dr. Norberg was great to work with. He was direct, straight-forward and a good motivator. I would highly recommend him for shoulder problems to any family member or friend.

I had 2 previous elbow surgeries and had lost about 50 degrees range of motion and had bad arthritis pain. Lived with it for 10 years because doctors didn’t feel that anything could be done. Once I was referred to Dr. Norberg, I knew he was the guy to fix this. Surgery went great and I was informed throughout the process. Fast forward a couple months and my pain has subsided and I have almost full range of motion in my elbow. Couldn’t be happier with the progress! The only downside is I wish I would have gone to him sooner!

I had a bad fall on the ice last January and completely tore my right supraspinatus from the bone, as well as a 1/2 tear on the infraspinaus and a 1/4 tear on the teresminor muscle. I was also told that my bicep had a tear and the bicep tendon was off the pully. I was devastated, as I have a physical job mitigating homes and after the fall my arm was useless. I searched the internet for the best orthopedic doctor in the area and Dr. Frank Norberg came up on top of the list. The day I met Dr. Norberg, he asked me if I could raise my arm and I couldn’t lift my arm one inch. I knew what I had was a total train wreck so I just said “Doc, I am not giving you much to work with, so do what you can”. I had the surgery on February 5th and remarkably I went back to work June 10th, just 4 months later. Today is November 13th and I had my last appointment with Dr. Norberg. I have 95% range of motion back and full strength and use of my arm. My wife and I will be forever grateful to Dr. Norberg for restoring the full use of my arm. One always hopes but I never really expected the surgery to turn out this good.

Thank you Dr. Norberg – you are the best!!!

Pain free and a wider range of motion. That was my goal when I had two reverse shoulder joint replacements with Dr. Frank Norberg, followed by physical therapy at TCO. The first surgery for my left shoulder in 2016 left me with no more pain and more strength and mobility. It was such a success that I had the same operation on my right shoulder with Dr. Norberg in 2018. Over a year later, it too is pain free and giving me an extended range of motion. I just had my one year check-up for the right and my three year check-up for the left. Everything is A-OK, thanks to Dr. Norberg and his staff. I can even shoot hoops with my grandson! Since I don’t have a 3rd shoulder, I’m confident I won’t have any more shoulder issues. I highly recommend Dr. Norberg and his staff.

Upon not being previously diagnosed, I was directed to Dr. Norberg due to continued pain after a fall. He was quickly able to examine the x-rays and not only provide a diagnosis but explain what the problem was. He provides exceptional care with a great sense of humor. Though it was only a fracture, he was committed to following up to ensure I regained complete mobility and was pain free.

Dr. Frank Norberg performed rotator cuff repair with biceps tenodesis surgery on my right (dominant) shoulder in January 2019 at Twin Cities Orthopedics. My progress has been fantastic. He recommended wearing a restrictive sling for a month and physical therapy for several months and I followed his recommendations. Dr. Norberg followed my progress for 7 months. My constant pain is gone and I can use the arm normally. Dr. Norberg is not only an excellent surgeon, but he is very thorough with his follow through. He was friendly, encouraging and easy to talk to. He answered most of my questions before I even asked them but was happy to address any other questions I had. I would highly recommend Dr. Norberg and his staff. I am completely satisfied with the results.

Dr. Norberg did an excellent job pre-surgery explaining the surgical procedure that he would use to repair my torn bicep and what I could expect post-surgery. I understand that my injury was worse than expected. However, the surgery went without any complications and I am on the road to recovery. At each of my post-surgical visits, Dr. Norberg has done an excellent job of explaining where I am in my recovery cycle. He is an excellent surgeon and has a great manner about him.

I opted for the relatively new Tenex Procedure with Dr. Norberg, and I am SO happy I did! The calcified deposit in my shoulder was so large I had trouble just doing routine tasks…and/or moving a stick shift car into reverse. This procedure was much less invasive than traditional shoulder surgery and I was awake & intrigued during the 30 minute procedure! I watched the ultrasound as the doctor used a machine to basically suck out the bulk of the deposit (after numbing the area). I went to brunch at Perkins after the procedure, and after a couple days with shoulder pain, I was on my way to PT and getting my mobility back! Less than three months later I was lifting heavy boxes and moving without noticing any difficulties with my shoulder. I highly recommend this procedure if it seems workable for the situation and I recommend Dr. Norberg! Thanks so much!

My superior capsular reconstruction by Dr. Norberg was great! The surgery was very successful and I am very happy with the results.

I had a 95% tear in a rotator cuff which was severely limiting my activities. Dr. Norberg did the repair in about 1 hour and after about four months of rehab I was able to resume most activities, the most important being golfing with no issues during or after.

In the fall of ’17, I fell on my right shoulder and really ripped my right rotator cuff. The arm and shoulder barely moved and when I tried to use it there was intense pain. Saw Dr. Norberg and, at first, he suggested a reverse shoulder. I felt kind of iffy about that so he suggested the SCR (Superior Capsular Reconstruction) which was a fairly new procedure. Dr. Norberg was a miracle worker. November 12th I had surgery and a little more than a year later I have no pain, great flexibility and strength. I need to work on that a bit more. Almost painless, and I’m a big baby, from the beginning. Dr. Norberg is encouraging, upbeat and has a sense of fun which doesn’t mean he can’t be serious. I am so impressed with this man’s skills. And even though I am 72, the man never treated me as if I was old. I cannot recommend him enough if you want the SCR surgery. He has a terrific PA, also.

Had SCR (Superior Capsular Reconstruction) on my left shoulder with Dr. Frank Norberg on May 22, 2018 due to a complete tear of my supraspinatus and other damage to the shoulder joint. I am 29 weeks out and my shoulder feels great. Dr. Norberg did a great job with the surgery and answering my questions about the procedure and the recovery. I have full range of motion and I am back to about 95% of my strength in the shoulder, but I am confident that I will get back to 100% as time goes by and I finish out my physical therapy.

From my first appointment, through my operation and after care, everyone was great. They made me feel like I was the most important person to them. Dr. Norberg is the best. He made the process easy. He is a great surgeon and I would recommend him to anyone. My shoulder is so much better. Thanks to Dr. Norberg and his staff.

I saw Dr. Norberg on Oct. 24, 2018 one year after my reverse shoulder replacement surgery. I am extremely happy with the results. I have no pain and have regained most of my prior mobility. I very much appreciate the fine manner that Dr. Norberg has when dealing with me as a patient.

Dr. Norberg performed rotator cuff surgery on my right shoulder in April 2018. I am very pleased with the outcome – no pain and excellent range of motion. Physical therapy group at TCO Plymouth was great to work with. I highly recommend Dr. Norberg and his team.

December 2017 surgery on my (80 year old female) right (primary) shoulder. Badly torn right shoulder resulted in a total shoulder replacement. Dr. Norberg was professional, he put me at ease, and the results were so spectacular that I had almost no pain and walked out of the hospital after 1 night without using any pain medication. I followed their range of motion post op instructions and fully recovered in just over a month. His office staff were outstanding and great to work with on all interactions.

Dr. Norberg gave me my life back. From painful days and more than I care to count sleepless nights (from pain), I now sleep like a baby and can keep up with my 4 year old grandson. I am so glad I got referred to TCO. Being treated there for shoulder replacement has made my life worth living.

On October 8, 2013, Dr. Norberg performed surgery on my right rotator cuff. I had fallen twice on the same shoulder and needed a repair. While at the site he also fixed my released bicep. He did an amazing job! I golf and that is what I wanted to be able to do after I healed and completed therapy. Today I really don’t notice that I had those repairs. I golf and do everything that I want to do. Thank you so much Dr. Norberg! You are my hero! Ten days ago you did my husband Jim’s right rotator cuff and he is healing very nicely with very little pain. To date, he has taken one pain pill. Thanks! He is well on the way to recovery!

Dr. Norberg did a reverse shoulder replacement on me about a year after I had surgery for a humerus break that left me with pain and limited movement of my right arm. He explained what the surgery would entail and the possible outcomes. I opted for the surgery which I had about two months ago. In the after surgery appointments I was impressed by his professionalism and postoperative program in dealing with my situation. As a result, today I have gotten back much of my movement and the pain has subsided. I owe many thanks to Dr. Norberg and his assistant for their expertise.

My procedure by Dr. Norberg was very effective with a dramatic decrease in pain within days. Went from taking pain relievers daily to not taking any, and resuming all daily activities within weeks.

Dr. Norberg and his team were wonderful with my 4 year old who broke his arm being a typical 4 year old (however, if you ask him, he was punching an Alien from outer space). I felt confident that my son was receiving great care. My questions were answered with understanding and compassion. I was never rushed or dismissed but rather listened to and reassured.

Thank you Dr. Norberg, Ryan, the x-ray team and nursing staff. You do great work and while I hope to not see you again, if we need to, you will be the first people we call!

I received reverse total shoulder replacements on both of my shoulders. Dr. Norberg did a wonderful job with both surgeries. Within two weeks after each surgery, I was pain free and was on my way to regaining full movement of my arms/shoulders. I am now able to use 95% of my shoulder movement and have been unable to do that for as long as I can remember. Dr. Norberg is very personable, helpful and as his nurses would say; a ROCKSTAR! Thank you so much for everything that you have done to help me gain my life back and have the ability to live pain free.

My orthopedic surgeon for a left shoulder rotator cuff repair was Dr. Frank Norberg. I was surprised with the minimal amount of pain after surgery. I only used one pain pill after surgery to make sure that I got a good’s night rest. The remaining prescribed pain pills were not needed. The scar is no longer visible. I healed in record time by following the exercises that Dr. Norberg recommended.

I’m fortunate that my primary doctor recommended Dr. Frank Norberg. He is a great surgeon, which I highly recommend.

I received excellent, excellent care from Dr. Norberg and his staff. I would recommend him to anyone, anytime. I felt very comfortable and secure through the whole process. The emphasis on following rehab directions was the key to an excellent recovery.

Thanks to Dr. Norberg for an excellent experience with my rotator cuff surgery and follow-up.
After 9 months I am within 5% of full use of my arm. The entire experience went very well, including follow-up visits and therapy.
I would highly recommend this surgery and this surgeon for anyone contemplating rotator cuff surgery.

I had this surgery a year ago and everything went great. I am 74 years old and I can do things this year that I was unable to do prior to surgery. Dr. Norberg is an excellent surgeon and I recommend to all who require shoulder care.

Preceding this rotator cuff surgery I have had two knee surgeries and another shoulder surgery, so I feel pretty qualified to make this statement. Dr. Norberg and his staff are the best! They make a person feel like family.

After a year of non-stop pain in my right shoulder, and two attempts to quiet the pain with cortisone shots, I finally saw Dr. Norberg. An MRI revealed the extreme level of damage that could only be repaired by a reverse replacement. I was told this surgery would give the most stable final outcome and potentially relieve the pain almost immediately. Since this seemed like a dramatic claim, and I really had no set expectations, my only hope was that it could be true. Any decrease in my pain would have been a happy outcome. To my surprise and absolute delight, my pain level right after surgery went to zero…ZERO! Seven weeks later, still NO PAIN. I am thrilled!

In mid 2015, Dr. Norberg performed ankle surgery as there were several broken bones. I was extremely pleased with his excellent surgical performance and concern for my recovery by closely monitoring my progress with PT. Without question, I would seek out his surgical services again and refer him to others.

I can honestly say Dr. Norberg gave me my life back.

August 2012: I fell getting into an Xcel Energy elevator. The floor did not settle all the way, I caught my foot and by the time I hit the back side of the elevator I had: 1) broken the tip of my shoulder bone, 2) dislocated my shoulder and 3) broken/ripped two tendons. After 7 hours in the ER, the technicians were finally able to get my shoulder back in it’s socket.

FIRST SURGERY: September/October 2012 – Reconnect tendons followed by months of physical therapy. Daily exercises at home. It was painful and I still developed a frozen shoulder.

SECOND SURGERY: May 2013 – I was referred to Dr. Norberg from my first orthopedic surgeon. He said Dr. Norberg is “the best” for shoulders. Dr. Norberg reattached the tendons and released my frozen shoulder. More physical therapy, more exercises.

THIRD SURGERY: January 2016 – Reverse Shoulder Replacement. By this time, my tendons had pretty much dissolved. We could have tried to use a substitute tendon but my chances of lasting success were slim. My best option was a reverse shoulder replacement.

RESULTS: I am very happy to be able to use my shoulder with no pain. I can do normal home activities, i.e. fix my hair, wash my face, get dishes out of the cabinet, carry groceries. I can lift up to 20 lbs easily. I don’t try to lift anything heavy over my head and that is fine with me.

MY LIFE RENEWED: It is because of Dr. Norberg’s skill, care, concern and personal warmth that I have returned to my old self again. I am so very happy with my results. I would highly recommend Dr. Norberg to anyone needing shoulder help.

I am more than satisfied with my shoulder replacement. I felt cared for and respected in a compassionate, competent, and professional way, from my office visits to the operating room and all through the physical therapy. My shoulder operates beyond my expectations and I am free of pain. Dr. Norberg and his team are to be congratulated for their thoughtfulness and excellent abilities.

Dr. Norberg assessed my situation after being “doored” while riding 22 mph on my road bike. He recommended surgery to repair the injury. I completed physical therapy over a 6-9 month period and achieved a range of motion between 80-90%. Three years later my range of motion is near 100% and I have no pain whatsoever. I highly recommend Dr. Frank Norberg.

Ron (pictured on right) injured his shoulder over 20 years ago and underwent numerous surgeries that did not ease his pain. Recently, it was recommended that Ron schedule an appointment with Frank Norberg, MD (pictured on left), of Twin Cities Orthopedics. Dr. Norberg performed a shoulder replacement surgery which has vastly improved Ron’s overall quality of life. “For the first time since my injury I can lift my right arm unassisted and can do more than I ever dreamed possible,” said Ron. Dr. Norberg is “not only an excellent surgeon but a very kind and caring person,” he said.
