I’ve had three hand surgeries with Dr. Fischer. He is THE hand guy in MN. Transplants in both thumbs due to arthritis and trigger finger surgery in two fingers. This man is talented. The arthritis in my thumbs hurt so bad I couldn’t sleep. So, I decided to have the transplant surgery. Recovery took about a month. Eight years later, my thumbs are still perfect…no pain…I can do everything I want to do again. If you need this type of surgery, don’t be afraid. Recovery is quick and results are perfect. Dr. Fischer is the right guy to do this.

I am a prime example of Dr. Szalapski’s excellent surgical skills, treatment and how well he replaced my right hip. He has also successfully surgically repaired my trigger index finger on my right hand. In addition, he is keeping my knee out of trouble because of arthritis. I am very happy with Dr. Szalapski and I give him and his staff the highest rating one can receive in his field of medicine.

I brought my daughter in yesterday to the Edina walk-in clinic for an injured hand/wrist. It was such a great experience. I appreciate being able to take her there instead of a dirty, influenza infested urgent care. The clinic was clean and the staff was very kind. The x-ray techs were so great with my 4-year-old and got the x-ray done quickly.

I had an amazing experience at TCO! Dr. McCarthy went above and beyond by operating intricately around my tattoo with precision and perfection leading to a fantastic result!

Dr. Gesensway is an outstanding orthopedic hand surgeon.  I had been experiencing pain in my hands and numbness in my arms, becoming progressively worse.  He spent time with me prior to surgery, evaluating my symptoms and determining the need for not only the carpal tunnel release, but also the lacertus fibrosus release (specifically for the arm numbness and thumb weakness).  I had both surgeries performed (4 months apart) and received IMMEDIATE POSTOPERATIVE RELIEF (in the OR) of the numbness and weakness. Dr. Gesensway is an outstanding physician, highly skilled and knowledgeable, with great bedside manner.  I would recommend his care highly.

For the first time in many, many years, I have no hand pain. Dr. Bakker has patiently done seven surgeries on me for trigger fingers, carpal tunnel, and cubital tunnel syndrome. Through it all, he has been concerned and willing to help me in any way he can. He is the best upper extremity surgeon I have ever been to. I can’t say enough good things about him.

Dr. Gerlach performed an emergency transfer of a tendon to my thumb. I now have full use of my thumb on my dominant hand. Throughout the pre-op and post-op visits, he explained everything in detail and always seemed like he had all the time in the world to answer my questions. Dr. Gerlach was very skilled and kind. In addition, the hand therapist, Lisa Smith, who works closely with him, provided great therapy and advice on improving strength and range of motion. Lisa is also very talented and kind. Dr. Gerlach did a wonderful job. He gave me options on what I could do instead of having surgery, which I tried first but it didn’t work. He explained exactly what my procedure would consist of and made me feel comfortable before and during the surgery. Very professional. I would highly recommend Dr. Gerlach for any hand or wrist problems that you might have.

Dr. McCarthy was quick to see my injury and even quicker to get me into surgery. Next day! Aftercare has been awesome. She removed my pin and I started physical therapy the same day. Sarah Wilcox has been great with my therapy. Overall this has been a great outcome from a work accident. Thank you Dr. McCarthy!

Due to a childhood disease (polio) I had developed 2 fingers where the middle joints would no longer bend, causing a loss of grip. Dr. McCarthy said she could help by fusing these joints in a bent position, so surgery was scheduled and performed.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Dr. McCarthy and the entire staff at TCO, including Sue Anderson, in therapy. The entire process was exceptional in every way and the folks involved couldn’t have been more accommodating. Great job guys!
