After years of pain, I finally decided to look into knee surgery. A colleague referred me to Dr. Owen O’Neill and I am forever thankful that he did. Dr. O’Neill did a complete knee replacement for me and every aspect of it was professional and compassionate. Every appointment was on time, every communication from the team was excellent, and the surgery was such a success that I am going to have him correct my other knee. Dr. O’Neill not only changed my life but also my family’s lives. I am able to walk without pain and keep up with the family on vacations, and more. My overall attitude is so much better due to the lack of pain I had been experiencing for so many years. I had two knee replacements done by Dr. Mair at TCO. My right knee was done 2.5 years ago and my left knee was done on February 1^st of this year. Both experiences were great and Dr. Mair was a very caring, thorough and understanding surgeon. Both of my knees are doing fine and my quality of life has greatly improved. I am very happy I decided to have my knees repaired. I was very satisfied with the care from Dr. Mair and his PA-C, Cody. Both men were very patient and willing to answer any questions I had concerning the entire procedure. They are great guys!!!

I’m 7 weeks out from surgery. It was a rough couple of weeks to start but I feel life is beginning to return to normal. I reached a point pre-surgery of walking with a bad limp and doing stairs one at a time. I did very little exercise and always had a constant, low-level pain. Dr. Saterbak and her team did a great job. I’m beginning to walk normally, I can do stairs and I’m back on my bike. During the COVID year when elective surgery was not available, I had tried pills, creams, etc., hoping something would provide real relief. The cortisone shots in my knee were the only relief but they were temporary. I am a very satisfied customer!

My whole experience with TCO has been great. From the doctor visits before and after surgery, to physical therapy, the entire staff took an interest in me and my recovery. When it comes time to fix my other knee, I will be back! Thank you, Dr. O’Keefe and Dalton.

I have had a hip replacement and knee replacement with Dr. Owen O’Neill. Both procedures ended with excellent results. If you are considering either procedure, I would recommend Dr. O’Neill.

I had wonderful experience when having my total knee replacement! The EXCEL Program at TCO worked like a well oiled clock. The first two nights were painful and I had to rock myself for an hour to get adequate pain relief. On the first night, a nurse walked with me at least four times through the hospital halls and I never waited more than five minutes to have my call light answered. They kept adding ice to my machine so the alarms never went off.

All of the staff knew exactly what recovery would be like and nurses answered all of my questions correctly. I did not use a walker or crutches following surgery but I had them just in case I was unsteady. I was able to return to playing pickleball the fourth week after surgery and, to my amazement, I have been playing daily ever since the surgery. The pain subsided after the third week. I’m only 63 years old so I’m thrilled I can do anything I choose to do again!

When I first sought out a consult for knee replacements, I asked for a physician with a good bedside manner. I was immediately directed to Dr. Heikes and I have never been disappointed. Not only is she one of the kindest, most caring doctors I’ve had, she also takes her time to listen and get to know you as a person. She makes sure you are not just a patient to her – you are an individual with a story.

Before I met Dr. Heikes, I was told by several surgeons that I was too young for knee replacements. I was given very few options to try and none of those worked. Dr. Heikes always thinks outside the box. She found solutions when others found dead ends. When those solutions were used up, she gladly and expertly replaced my knees. First it was a set of partial replacements and then, when the rest of my knees were in need, she completed bilateral total replacements.

The deep concern and precise care that she shows is not unique to herself, but to her physician assistant Megan Armstrong as well. Together they form an incredible team to give the best care I could have asked for. I am walking and playing with my kids today because of them. They gave me back my life and my mobility and for that I am so very grateful. If you’re searching for the right medical team for you, I cannot recommend Dr. Heikes and Megan Armstrong PA-C enough.
