I had my knee replacement surgery on October 7, 2019. My entire experience – starting with my consultation with Dr. Szalapski, through the preliminary “class”, surgery, and follow-up – has been very positive. I am very glad that I had the surgery when I did.

Dr. Szalapski’s team of nurses and other doctors are excellent, and they all work very well together. The pre-op and post-op staff at Fairview Hospital Southdale in Edina were amazing. They were helpful, friendly and professional. Thanks to the good care of everyone, I have recovered well and had no issues whatsoever.

Dr. Meisterling and his assistant Kayla, have been an extended part of my family for the past 10 years. I have degenerative joint disease which has led me to have both knees, one shoulder, two thumbs and, most recently, a hip replaced. Dr. Meisterling and Kayla have walked through them all with me. My recent hip replacement was particularly challenging. Different components of the hardware failed, resulting in two revisions within 3 months of having the initial hip replacement. Dr. Meisterling and Kayla were available, supportive and most importantly, my advocates as we had to schedule each of these procedures. I felt so cared for during the whole ordeal. I am so grateful for this team.

I’ve had Dr. Anseth replace my left knee and I am happy with it. I am now scheduled to have my right one replaced. He did an awesome job with the left knee replacement and I expect that same level of care with my next replacement. I feel blessed to have one of the best surgeons the Midwest.

I was referred to Dr. Szalapski in November 2017 from a friend. I had total knee replacement in 2019 with very happy results. Dr. Szalapski’s assistant, Jessica, was a huge help. Love her! His team was great and very caring. I’m so happy I could walk again with no pain. I went back again to see him in September 2020 to get my right knee replaced. Tracy, on his team, was awesome and I’m glad that they did not do staples on the incision but glue instead. That healed much faster and looks much better than it would have with staples. Thank you Tracy! I am on my way to a great recovery. Once again, thanks to Dr Szalapski and his team. I also loved the Excel Program! That was the best place ever instead of being in a hospital! There was excellent care and awesome nurses with great, private rooms too!

Dr. Anseth was highly recommended to me for knee surgery. He replaced my left knee on August 31, 2020. I heard some interesting post-knee-surgery stories from friends in other states, and I have to say my results and rehab have been beyond expectations. No problems, great mobility, much easier to walk up and down stairs, and an overall improvement in my ability to perform daily functions. I am so grateful for his surgical talent and the fact that my knee is functioning at such a high level in less than 2 months. Dr. Anseth replaced my left knee and I am happy with it. I am now scheduled to have my right one replaced. He did an awesome job with the left knee replacement and I expect that same level of care with my next replacement. I feel blessed to have one of the best surgeons in the Midwest.

Dr. Arntson was great from the first time I met with him. He does a great job explaining what is going to be done. Then when I spoke with his care coordinator, she explained everything as well. The whole care team really made me feel like I was the most important patient ever, though they have many. I highly recommend Dr. Arntson and his staff.

My experience with the team at TCO has been outstanding. Partial knee replacement surgery was performed by Dr. Anseth. From the original diagnosis, right through the operation and the post-surgery follow up, everything has gone smoothly and the result has been better than expected. Prior to the operation I could not walk an eighth of a mile without considerable pain. Two months after surgery I was able to take a two mile trek through Lebanon Hills park. No cane, no pain.

Much of the credit for my speedy recovery goes to Jeff LaPanta, the TCO physical therapist who has overseen the rehab of my knee. Jeff is a very knowledgeable, personable, friendly guy who is great to work with and who obviously really enjoys working with people and seeing them reach their goals.

I was hit by a car in a parking garage in 2012. My left knee meniscus was heavily damaged and was cleaned up microscopically, however I was told at that time that I would likely need a knee replacement before age 65. After moving to MN, I transferred care to Dr. Arntson at TCO. Due to arthritis, my knee would periodically swell, which was very painful. I had it drained with corticosteroid injection which worked extremely well for a number of years but, as forewarned, it eventually stopped being effective.

I had a total knee replacement, spent the next day at Mercy Hospital, and after my second PT session I was able to return home. The first couple of days were rough (pain wise). Within 2 weeks I was able to walk unassisted. Within 6 weeks I was able to engage in most of my prior daily routine. Continuing PT and exercise, I anticipate being better than I have felt in a couple of years. Thank you TCO, Dr. Arntson, Megan Nelson (PT), and Bri Lund (PA)!

I had a lot of cleanup surgeries over the past 43 years. When it was time for the total knee operation, Dr. Knowlan did an awesome job. I had no pain and bed side matter was great. Thanks Dr. Knowlan!
