I received anterior hip replacement surgery from Dr. Arntson. After the surgery, all my previous pain was gone, and there was no new pain. I am one happy patient.

I had my total hip replacement surgery performed by Dr. Ridley. Through the entire process, he explained the procedure step-by-step and what I should expect. He was there to talk with me before the surgery and right afterwards to see how I was feeling. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. I had no pain afterwards and my physical activities are nearly back to normal 60 days post-surgery.

In February I finally scheduled my hip replacement surgery. I was in so much discomfort and pain. This was my first time at TCO, and I was assigned to Dr. Bircher. After my first exam with him I knew I was in good hands. I had my surgery, and it was the best thing I could’ve done for myself. Dr. Bircher was phenomenal, he did a great job and I have no complaints. I’d also like to compliment his assistant, Kari Gabrielse, on her professionalism and her care. They are a dynamic duo and if by chance I would need the other hip replaced, I will be asking for this duo to do the job. In addition, the whole clinic atmosphere is great, everyone is so helpful and pleasant. Thank you!

WOW is what comes to mind when I think about the before and after my total hip replacement surgery performed by Dr. Owen O’Neill at TCO. At age 58, I didn’t think that I was “old” enough to have a joint replacement, but my active lifestyle became more and more limited. Once the “bone on bone” feeling started in my left hip, I knew it was time. The pain was prohibitive, and I could no longer enjoy my favorite activities, even walking! I have to say, the minimally invasive surgery went perfectly under Dr. O’Neill’s expert care. Within 9 days post-surgery, I was walking around the house without assistance. I feel as though I have my life back!

My left hip required replacement, so I selected Dr. Bircher at TCO, which turned out to be the best decision to treat both of my hip pain issues. He is caring, knowledgeable, expresses confidence in the treatment options, and always had time to answer my questions. He replaced my left hip with no follow-up issues after the recovery. I was able to resume normal activities as much as my right hip would allow. The right hip ended up needing hip revision surgery after extensive tests determined the original hip replacement performed by a different physician was loose and causing pain when I walked. Again, Dr. Bircher and his care team did an excellent job preparing me for what lay ahead as this one was more complicated than my left hip replacement. I am now 6 months post hip revision surgery, and I could not be more pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend Dr. James Bircher, his care team including his assistant Kari Gabrielse if you are seeking relief from hip pain.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the fine care and surgery by Dr. Carlson. In only 17 days post-surgery. I am only using my cane sparingly and am totally pain free. He is a miracle worker. I highly recommend him and the team at TCO. Thank you, Dr. Carlson!

I placed my trust in Dr. O’Neill and his staff after carefully researching orthopedic surgeons since I needed a lot of “structural work.” I wanted to be certain I would have the same results with top notch precision. Every replaced joint is working well, in alignment, and I am back to enjoying life with an active supported body. His staff is caring, efficient and prompt in responding to questions and concerns I’ve had over the course of five years.

It’s been three months since my anterior hip replacement surgery, and I couldn’t be happier with Dr. O’Neill, his team, the EXCEL program, and my new hip. Every stage of my experience with Dr. O’Neill and his team was positive.

It started with my first appointment when he explained my condition, options, and an overview of how he performs hip replacements. My surgery was scheduled and during the three months wait, I received guidance from his staff on how to prepare through a mailed packet of program information and an online Zoom meeting. This preparation was very educational and provided me with added confidence in the EXCEL program as well as Dr. O’Neill and his team.

On surgery day, the friendly staff ran everything very efficiently. The surgery proceeded without any problems, and I had no complications. As part of the EXCEL program, I stayed overnight at their Edina Care Suites where I was cared for by wonderful nurses and a physical therapist who aided with my initial recovery. This overnight stay helped me feel more stable so I could return home confident with my balance and ability to walk. My care nurses were attentive and thorough, really just plain outstanding.

During my post-surgery recovery period, I gained stability, flexibility, and strength each day. I followed my post-surgery medication and exercise program at home with the prescribed daily routine. I needed to use a cane for only three days and within weeks I was taking neighborhood walks (about a mile or so) with a full stride. Now my hip doesn’t buckle, I no longer walk with a hitch in my step, and I have returned to my regular workout routine.

In summary, I’m very grateful for the EXCEL program, the surgery team, the staff, but especially the knowledge and skill of Dr. O’Neill.
