Advancing Patient Outcomes: TCO Research and Education Night 2024
Research and education are core foundations of TCO, benefiting our patients and advancing clinical practices. The TCO Annual Research and Education Night has continued to grow and expand as we remain determined to stay at the forefront of medical innovation and technology. Presenting to peers and colleagues on specified areas of research creates a collaborative discussion to keep moving forward.
Orthopedic Research and Discussion
In addition to patient care, many TCO and Training HAUS providers also contribute to scholarly research studies and publications. In the past year, our providers researched the following notable topics:
Lower Extremity
Weightbearing knee outcomes, meniscus root tears, extrusions and failures, fertilization ACL reconstruction and functional return-to-play, hip arthroscopy in pro and collegiate athletes, single leg hop mechanics and measurement, and heel height knee hyperextension.
Extremities
Wall roll concussion testing, strength and shoulder stabilization, spine and neck athletic spondylolysis, carpal tunnel release, MP joint instability, CMC arthroplasty, and sesamoidectomy.
Regenerative Medicine, Bioengineering Lab, and Sports Science
Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC), Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP), Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) benefits on tendons and joints, ankle joint preservation and arthroscopy injections, sports science testing and analysis as well upcoming robot studies in the TCO Bioengineering Lab involving ACL graft and surgical techniques and ankle syndesmosis repair.
Collaboration Improving Outcomes
We had 45 people within TCO and Training HAUS participate in research and education to collaborate and lead 77 studies throughout 2023. This year we look forward to continuing to develop our educational programs, research studies, and publications.
