I had a full hip replacement with Dr. Carlson at TCO Chaska in the Ridgeview building. Dr. Carlson and his team were knowledgeable and approachable experts. From start to finish the procedure went smoothly with incredible staff involved in each step of the process. Both the TCO clinic and Ridgeview were clean and staffed with friendly professionals. I had my right hip replaced by Dr. Owen O’Neill in October 2025. The care and information I received from Dr. O’Neill and his team were stellar. I would highly recommend him for any orthopedic surgery. If I hadn’t seen the X-rays at my eight-week follow-up appointment, I would have never known I had a hip replacement since I have no restrictions in motion. Truly amazing!

I had a more uncommon surgery since I had two hip procedures done at once. Dr. Bircher and his team were able to take bone from one hip and use it for the other. The recovery has gone better than we expected. One thing that meant so much to us was how Dr. Bircher prayed with us prior to the surgery. His team and the nursing staff were awesome as well.

My career involves a lot of travel, and I walk through multiple airports, factories, and businesses every week. I have lived with significant pain in my right hip for over three years and kept telling myself it would get better. It didn’t. It got bad enough that people would ask if I needed a cart or wheelchair. My gait changed and pronated badly enough that my shoes would wear funny. My girlfriend kept being disappointed that I couldn’t hike or walk with her, couldn’t mow the lawn, or do other normal tasks. Finally, when I needed help putting my socks and shoes on, that was it for me. I set up an appointment, and Dr. Bircher was able to see me immediately. About an hour later, after imaging, he said, “You look like a person that severely needs a new hip. How about next Tuesday?” I was a surprised at how fast I could be seen but settled on a procedure date two weeks out instead. He constantly communicated with me. His team sent me a ton of information and talked me through the entire procedure. On the day of the procedure, each member came in individually to go over their role in detail, which was reassuring and kept each step clear. They checked up on me regularly during my recovery and provided valuable information on physical therapy. All of them had phenomenal bedside manners. I honestly could not have had a better experience with Twin Cities Orthopedics, Dr. Bircher, and his team.

I dislocated my hip a few years ago by falling off a ladder. I had my hip replaced by Dr. Joseph Nessler in June 2025, and the entire experience exceeded every expectation I had going into surgery. From the initial consultation to the follow-up appointments, Dr. Nessler and his team were professional, reassuring, and incredibly skilled.

Dr. Nessler used a robotic-assisted approach for my total hip replacement, and the precision of his work shows. My recovery was smooth, and I was back to my pre-injury performance level in just five months. I am moving better than I have in years, and I was able to get back to running, lifting, and biking without wincing in pain.

I am truly grateful for the exceptional care I received. If you’re considering a hip replacement surgery, I couldn’t recommend Dr. Nessler and Twin Cities Orthopedics more highly. I will be able to ski the Birkie in February with zero issues.

For three years after my right hip replacement, I had weakness and pain that prevented me from being able to lift my leg. I had an anterior hip replacement surgery performed by Dr. Samuel Carlson on August 14, and I am very pleased with the outcome. Six weeks later, I was able to travel and hike in Europe. Now I can sit, walk, and sleep every day with no hip pain.  Dr. Carlson and Jacob Szalat, PA-C answered questions thoroughly and clearly, from the initial consultation through the post-surgery appointments. All the staff involved throughout the process were helpful, respectful, and professional. Having the surgery through the EXCEL Program at the Crosstown Surgery Center was a great choice. The care I received during the overnight stay was beyond expectations. I felt safe in a quiet setting that allowed me to truly rest comfortably. The information provided before and after the surgery was excellent and informative. I was given a contact to call for anything that might come up during the process, and the two times I called with a question, I got a response within minutes. I would highly recommend Dr. Carlson and the EXCEL Program to anyone considering a hip replacement.
