I had my right hip replaced in August 2024, and my left hip replaced in March 2025. Dr. Bircher did them both and I couldn’t be happier. I am walking and sleeping without pain. It has made such a difference in my life. I would highly recommend Dr. Bircher. He listens, he follows up with phone calls, and he truly cares.

I was fortunate to already have been familiar with Dr. O’Neill from my nursing career. When I realized a new hip was in my future, I knew exactly who I wanted to do it. Dr. O’Neill and his Team were excellent to work with during the entire process. I felt well prepared during the pre and post operation phase. Everything flowed like a well-oiled machine, yet it felt very personalized. The nursing care was great, and all my needs were met. They even sent a lunch home for me and my care person!

Had I known how smoothly the surgery and recovery would go, I would have opted for surgery right away instead of dealing with pain and two cortisone injections over the course of four years. I would highly recommend Dr. O’Neill and his Team. His experience, surgical expertise, and clear, concise explanations of my options inspired complete confidence that I was in good hands. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Bircher because of my knee pain. He saw the way I was walking and suggested that I get an X-ray of my hip even though I had no pain there. The X-ray showed bone on bone in the hip, and the pain was going from my hip down to my knee. I had a hip replacement on April 1st, 2025. After three weeks, I was walking with no walker, and my knee pain was gone. Three months later, there is still no pain in the knee. It has been the best I have felt in two years.

I honestly cannot thank Dr. Anseth and his Team enough for the “new” life that I have been given. In 2016, I was diagnosed with femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). I had two surgeries prior to help assist with preserving my right hip in the hope that I would not have to get a replacement. Unfortunately, after my second hip surgery, things never felt “right” or “normal.” That is when I decided I needed to see a doctor who specialized in hip care and has also worked on athletes of all ages.

Luckily, I was able to ask around and I heard that Dr. Anseth was one of the best, so I scheduled an appointment with him. He asked me questions, especially about what things I wanted to do that I could not physically do due to my arthritis forming in my hip. It was embarrassing that I could not put away my dishes from the dishwasher or pick up my clothes off the floor. We put together a game plan. I needed to lose some weight, which is challenging when I had pain. I also had a trip coming up that I didn’t want to reschedule. So, I had received two injections with his team in the meantime and scheduled as soon as I was able.

When on my trip, there was one thing I could not do, which was climb to the top of El Yunque National Rainforest. I made it about a quarter of the way up before needing to turn around. I promised myself that I would come back one day and finish that hike. That May, (three years ago) I had my operation. The team was amazing, and the relief was instant. I truly wished I had done it sooner. Dr. Anseth even took pictures of my hip for me, as I have worked in the medical field. By the second week I was walking around very well. About 4-months post op, I decided to get into biking and started lifting weights along with walking. It took a long time for my muscles to feel fully recovered, but I was happy I took the time to regain muscle strength.

Since having the operation, I have traveled to Rome and France. I have walked and climbed hills that I know I would not have been able to do previously. I have joined a dance studio. I bike, I play pickle ball, and now I am learning to golf. With diet and exercise, I have lost over 70 pounds because I am finally able to move the way I have wanted to for years. The best part of my story? I climbed to the top of El Yunque this past November with my friends. I cannot recommend him enough. There is hope for that pain to go away, and for you to have your life back. Since then, Dr. Anseth has also operated on my grandmother for her knees. Thank you to Dr. Anseth and his Team!

I’m sad that Dr. Nemanich is retiring. I guess that means that my right knee can never go bad!

Rarely do I walk without thinking about how grateful I am for my new hip and knee which are pain free! Although my left knee replacement was more painful than the other surgeries I have had in my life, it was well worth it. I have zero pain in my knee or hip, and they feel like my own. I can bend, stretch, and walk several miles without any pain. I am incredibly thankful. Dr. Nemanich is the best!

I cannot state how happy I am with the care I received from Dr. Bircher and his Team. Throughout both my knee and hip surgeries he listened to my concerns with compassion. Dr. Diekman replaced my right hip about 11 years ago. Now, I need the left hip replaced. I’m willing to drive 2 hours to have him replace it. I know others who have had hips or knees replaced by him, and they are extremely confident in his work. He is an excellent doctor!

From the moment I walked in with low back and hip issues, he took the time to listen, ask the right questions, and act quickly. Dr. Ridley performed surgery on both of my hip replacements. The experience was great with instant relief and no complications. My first hip was done at the Blaine location in November 2024 while the second hip was done at the Plymouth location in May 2025. Both locations had amazing staff. It was a great experience, and I would highly recommend Dr. Ridley for any orthopedic needs.

My thanks to Dr. Butterfield and his surgical team for the left total shoulder replacement. Dr. Butterfield’s expertise and precise technique has given me an excellent outcome from this surgery in April of 2025. Dr. Butterfield and his team did a total right shoulder replacement in August of 2021 as well. I went to TCO with a lot of pain in both instances and each outcome resulted in zero pain. TCO’s physical therapy staff showed me how to regain full use of both shoulders. Dr. Wetter also replaced both of my hips back in 2016 and 2018, also with no pain afterwards. The four surgeries I have had have been life changing. Thank you!
