My experience with Twin Cities Orthopedics was wonderful. I was unable to work due to my hip and Dr. Brian O’Neill took care of my hip replacement. Surgery was done at West Health surgery. Interlude was great! The whole experience was very organized. EXCEL program was the best. I am now back working.

I went in with a lot of pain in my right hip and knee, I was told i needed a new hip. I elected to have this procedure, it was the best thing I could have done. I came out of this surgery with no pain, more mobility and a new outlook on life. I can’t say  enough great things about Dr. Kruse and the staff. I have recommended TCO to many others. Thank you! Keep up the great work and the very special things you do.

Dear Dr. Ryan,

I was so grateful for all that you did for my mother, Carol, yesterday, that I felt compelled to write a note to thank you.

I just finished reading Atul Gawande’s book, Being Mortal, and I think the stories in that wonderful book heightened my awareness of how important doctors can be in improving and maintaining quality of life for us as we age or face significant illness. Doctors can also steer us wrong or fail to provide us wise counsel or understanding.

I so appreciated your approach with my mother. I saw you demonstrate gracious listening; empathy, compassion, and warmth; respect for her dignity and clear, practical, and thorough communication about her condition and potential alleviation of her symptoms.

Thanks, too, for going the extra mile to talk with Carmen S. right away and give us the notes of our visit.

Mom is feeling a little better so far, and we’ll hope that upward slope continues at full speed.

May you find continued success in your career of helping people maintain and improve their enjoyment of an active life.

I have had problems with my knees for 15+ years. I had a torn meniscus, acl, mcl and a lot of arthritis. Dr. Bocklage and Dr. Kraft have both done surgeries on me. I called to make an appointment with Dr. Kraft but he had retired. The nurse suggested Dr. Arntson. When I first met him he was very nice and helpful. He explained all the options to my husband and myself and answered all my questions. I decided on a knee replacement. I have heard many horror stories about the pain and it didn’t work and so on, but I felt very confident with Dr. Arntson and he reassured me that everything would be fine and I would be well taken care of. I felt very calm going into surgery and knew that he would do a great job.. He talked to my husband after surgery and said everything went well. From the time I was in recovery throughout my hospital stay (3days ) I had very little pain. The nurses at Mercy were very nice and were always there when I needed them. Dr Arnston came on the second day and removed the bandages. I was really shocked because it looked so good. Lots of swelling and pretty colors but the incision looked great. He did a great job.

Dr. Arntson and his staff have all be wonderful. He is an amazing surgeon, very kind and caring. I would recommend him to everyone 100% I would also like to mention the physical therapist at Mercy. Denise is great and my two outpatient therapists, Seth and Jared. They push me to do what I need to get better. I am doing great and with a little more time I’ll be walking and hiking the way I use to.

Dr. Knowlan and the TCO team was awesome! From the initial consults when I couldn’t walk without great pain through the follow up care after surgery when I threw my cane away, they treated me professionally and with respect, and the results were exactly as predicted. My life has completely turned around. Thank you TCO!

Started having knee problems back in the 1990 spots related. First my ACL went out and then had a shim put in my knee later on, but after time the knee was shot and wasn’t able to do spots any more go up and down steps, ride a bike and do karate. It was time to have the knee fix and after having the knee surgery around 2005 wasn’t sure how I would do. I was given some pain killers for a short time and did all my therapy like the doctor told me to do. Was off of pain killers in about 3 to 5 weeks and took Advil instead if needed. Doing my exercise every day,2 to 3 times a day and doing what the doctor said. Yes it took effort on my part, but is was worth every ounce of sweet, after the doctor took me off of all restriction .. I go for a 6 mile bike ride or longer and not afraid to walk 6 miles , I have also returned to doing karate tournaments ,swimming and camping . Did I mention that both lags have acritical knees and it was the best think I could done. I have them for over 5 years and going strong. I feel that Dr. Edward Szalapski did a great job doing the knee replacement and his team that work in getting back to a normal life, I give him 10 stars. Remember no pain no gain.

I had the anterior approach hip replacement on May 1st, 2017.  The reason I am writing this is because I was you at one point. I wasn’t sure which doctor to use. I wasn’t sure what I was going to experience. Most of all, I wanted to see what the outcome of others were. I am 52 years old and was worried I wouldn’t be able to play pickleball again. I went through the EXCEL program with Dr. Owen O’Neill.  I had surgery at the Crosstown Surgery Center. The surgery went well. A few hours later, I was moved across the street to an assisted living facility to spend one night to recover/rehab. I was up and walking just a few hours after surgery.

The entire staff at both places were very kind and put me at ease. I followed all of the exercises and stretching suggestions. Dr. O’Neill told me I would be back on the pickleball court 8 weeks after surgery. My goal was to play in the July 4th tournament. He was right!  I was playing slowly at 6 weeks and by July 4th, 2017 (8 weeks and 3 days) I was in the tournament and we won the gold!

I highly recommend Dr. Owen O’Neill, Jessie Donovan and the rest of the staff at Twin Cities Orthopedics!

For many years I suffered with lower back pain. After many sessions with my chiropractor she recommended I get a MRI done to determine what was going on with my back. Of course I waited so long that the pain was shooting down my left leg. The MRI showed I had a bulging disc. Dr. Deal was recommended from a good friend of mine. Dr. Deal is caring, knowledgeable and talks in terms anyone can understand. I’m very thankful for the work Dr. Deal did on my back, I’m pain free.
