If anyone tells you that you need a knee replacement, see Dr. Kruse as soon as possible. He and his staff are the best. You are a person to them and you will be getting the best surgeon and care team you can find.  Dr. Kruse is that rare surgeon who not only excels at what he does, but is also a caring human being with a sense of humor. The information packet he provides tells you exactly what to expect both pre and post-surgery. He replaced both my knees within the same year (the second knee decided to go downhill with little warning/injury). My recoveries were excellent. I encourage anyone who needs a knee replaced to have Dr. Kruse do it sooner rather than later.  In the scheme of life, the surgery and recovery are a very short term inconvenience for getting your life back.

After 15 years of pain and numbness radiating down the back of both legs and into my feet Dr. Deal performed a spinal fusion on my back L4, L5. I woke up after surgery with very little pain. Every day was better than the day before. My only regret was waiting so many years to have my surgery. I also have anxiety and panic issues. Dr. Deal and his nurse gave me the calm and courage to proceed. At age 69 I, for the first time in many years, feel positive about my future. After years of pain in my knees and difficulty walking very far, I had had enough and decided it was time to do something about my knees. A friend recommended Dr. Szalapski. I had both knees replaced (April and October) in 2013. I wish I had done it a lot earlier. I can walk for miles, and I do on our hiking and camping trips. I can kneel for a few minutes and I owe it all to the wonderful skills of Dr. Szalapski and Joe. Dr. Szalapski encouraged me to continue with exercises after I finished the therapy program. So very glad my friend recommended him after her knee surgery.

I am a 47-year-old female that had my right hip replaced in April 2016. Dr. Comfort encouraged me to have the replacement when my quality of life was impacted. That time came and I am so glad that I had the operation. I have been pain free since the operation and far more active than I have been in years. I just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much I appreciate your talent as a hand surgeon and your awesome staff at High Pointe.

After years of dealing with carpal tunnel I was finally pushed to do something about it when I developed a trigger thumb in my left hand. I had my first surgery last December. I was so happy with the results that I knew the following year I would do my right. Over this summer I ended up with a trigger thumb in my right hand as well, so surgery was done a bit sooner than I anticipated. I am now 4 weeks post op and couldn’t be happier.

I can now:

• Sleep through the night without waking up in pain
• Sleep on either side of the bed (even the middle) as I no longer have to have my arm hanging over the edge of the bed
• Eat an entire meal without having to hang my arm downwards to wake it up
• Drink and eat without dropping glasses, cups or utensils
• Curl and blow dry my hair
• Read for hours holding the book in my hands, not propping it up on something
• Drive my ATV
• Drive my car with both hands
• Carry bags without constantly switching hands

This list could go on and on, my point is that you restored things for me that I didn’t even realize I had adjusted to over the years.

So thank you, Dr. Karlstad and your awesome staff at High Pointe. It is amazing how efficient they are without ever making you feel you are being rushed. I always feel like me and my family are important when we are there.   

I’m an active senior, but was struggling with a constantly ulcerated hammertoe and bunion that was very painful, especially in cross-country ski boots and biking shoes. Dr. Jeffrey Seybold got me back in the mix of doing all the sports I love with no pain. Highly successful surgery last June and I’m single track mountain biking with my grandson again! I loved how professional he and the entire staff at TCO was!

I was introduced to Dr. Johnson when my husband had knee replacement surgery. We were always treated with respect and his very calm manner made us feel less anxious. It was very successful surgery and there were no complications. Now I have knee issues and Dr. Neil and Tad have helped me work through the varied options. For the first time in many, many years, I have no hand pain. Dr. Bakker has patiently done seven surgeries on me for trigger fingers, carpal tunnel, and cubital tunnel syndrome. Through it all, he has been concerned and willing to help me in any way he can. He is the best upper extremity surgeon I have ever been to. I can’t say enough good things about him.
